Roy’s going to be joining Charles Rogers face down and passed out in a taco bar in Farmington unless he gets his act together.

The issue was and is in Roy’s head. He has to decide that he wants to be a star in the NFL, and so far he’s playing in Chicago like he doesn’t want to stay employed. My advice is that the Bears should call in Dr. Phil!

I’d like to see Roy come back to Detroit if it means we can trade him to Jerry Jones again!

So somehow Woodsen is happy Devin is in Minny, where he only has to play him twice a year. If the guy was in Chicago, Woodsen would have to play him twice a year! He must be soooo relieved!!

I remember watching him in his first or second year (can’t remember which) playing for Detroit. It was a game, I think against Philly (?), where they were wearing their throw backs.

And he was simply a beast. Catching everything that was even close to him and just blowing up defenders trying to tackle him. I distinctly remember him literally just grabbing someone attempting to tackle him and throwing them out of the way.

How does THAT guy become THIS guy so quickly?

Answer: It was his third year, Calvin’s rookie year, The Eagles scored 50+ points that game. Calvin made the most amazing catch and landed on his back and got injured, Kitna got INT’ed 4 times, 3 on passes to Williams, Yet Kitna and Williams had career days because our only option was to throw the ball to keep up!

love having “First Down Roy” back in the NFC North. Love it even more that he won’t be dropping passes as a Lion.
The signing of Roy and promoting him to #1 has typical stubborn Mike Martz written all over it. The same Mike Martz who viewed 5’10″ Shaun Macdonald as a deep threat with the Lions, because of his experience in the system, even tho we had Roy AND Calvin Johnson!! In retrospect MacDonald may have been a better deep threat than Roy! So what does that say about his confidence in the receivers now? (Shaun MacDonald standing by his phone waiting to be a starter as I’m typing this, lol) And don’t get me started on his unwillingness to run the ball (Detroit, even tho we didn’t really have a running game, San Fran:Frank Gore), or draft QB’s high (Drew Stanton 2nd round), change his mechanics, then shelf him for the season, so he can cater to his arena league project (JT O’Sullivan) who has never went anywhere in the league unless Martz was his coordinator, and he still didn’t go anywhere!!
So as much as I despise our NFC North opponents, I have sympathy for you Bear’s fans…At least you know that your Top 10 pick next year should unseat one of your washed up vets…. unless your front office remains intact

When is this dude going to get it? This happens every season with him…he’s on his 3rd team since ’04,for one thing. For another,he shows up out of shape,and come game time he makes maybe 1 or 2 decent catches,if that. Why do people keep giving him big contracts? He belongs maybe on a practice squad somewhere,unless the light finally goes on and he puts the necessary work in… He’s going to find himself out of football altogether…

He is under 30, not being paid a lot of money and he has had success in Mike Martz offense.
If he flops then they cut him so it was worth the risk but I have no idea as to why they penciled him in as the starter.
Well… actually I do.
Jerry Angelo wanted it and Lovie does as he is told.

How on earth can the Bears pick up a guy as a FA that another team let walk out the door–because he was such a disappointment–then name him your starter?! After the lockout and no off season workouts or mini camps. Oh that’s right, this is the team that traded a high first round draft pick to Seattle for their qb (Rick Meirer) that they couldn’t wait to get rid of, then made him the starter.

That draft pick the Bears traded for Meirer was used to pick Walter Jones, who will probably be a A HALL OF FAMER AT LT. Bears, they never learn.

Great… Johnny “I can’t run a slant pattern or fight for a jump ball” Knox.

It is easy to pick out the people that WATCH the games vs. people that look at stats. Johnny Knox is overrated just like Greg Olsen was. Sure Knox is fast as hell… But after gaining 10 lbs in the off season he looked slower to me… He never crosses the face of a defender and then a quick slant becomes a quick INT.

This is what bugs me about Jerry Angelo u have all the money u could want to spend on a deep free agency and u go and sign someone who was less productive than Knox in catches, receiving yards & Average. Weres the logic in that ???? just cause he has connections to Darryl drake and mike martz… C’mon MAN !!!! I’ll take my chances with rookie sanzenbacher he at least has A catch this preseason

Angelo is holding the Bears back. How many years has he been at the helm and how have they done? He needs to go, along with Ted Phillips, Lovie and the whole inept crew. The Bears front office has to form a committee just to grow grass! That should tell you something. Jim Finks/Jerry Vanisi where are you???

Hester is just as bad as Roy. All he can really do is return kicks and that job has almost been eliminated. Knox should be the number 1. Here is hoping Roy becomes the best receiver on the team.
