First this is not shocking news analysis. When Tebow was a senior many analist were saying why he could not be a QB in the pros and maybe needed to become a tight end or something else.

Many teams passed on him in the draft,but Denver took a chance, and its not paying off yet.

So anyone who thinks Tebow is being treated unfair or picked on needs to read the whole book as it were.

If he wouldn’t have been a first round pick he probably would be playing in another position or on the chopping block. He’s a great kid but his skill set doesn’t transfer to the level of the NFL.

You should really talk Boomer considering the only reason you have any records is because your a left hand QB. I don’t seem to recall you ever winning any kind of national title, state or NFL. In fact you could be known as Mr. Second Place, seeing how that’s how your career went. Tebow has been beating the odds since before he was born. I’m betting that before his career is done he going to make you look like the rookie. Still beat me how you made it in the hall of fame.

This cuts both ways, but the reality is, Tebow hasn’t received any more criticism than any other first round bust. His supporters weep over ANY criticism. What’s the list now? Hoge? Esiason? Two whole national analysts this pre-season say Tebow can’t play? How dare they!

Anyone remember JaMarcus Russell? What about Matt Leinert? Brady Quinn? All first round busts.

All those guys received lots of hype, but got dumped on once they couldn’t perform like stars. Tebow can’t beat out Quinn, much less Orton. If Tebow were showing any signs of life, Orton would be a Dolphin. And this “time to develop” thing is nonsense. Teams are going to demand a 1st rounder to perform, and quickly.

If anyone else should take heat on this one, it’s Josh McDaniels. He drafted Tebow at least a round earlier than he could have.

Much is made about s getting the criticism because he is a Christian. You’ve got to be kidding! Orton practices and a ball doesn’t hit the ground. Tebow practices and every ball hits the ground. The people saying this haven’t seen the guy play in the NFL.

Matt Leinart had one of the best college careers on great teams, as did Tebow. Look where they are now. Look at all the other Heisman Trophy winning QBs who failed in the NFL. Boomer is right, winning in college when you’re on incredibly talented teams in a good offensive system does not equal winning in college.

I agree. There’s more stories on Tebow, but lets be clear; Tebow is the greatest QB ever to play college football. He is just unorthodox in his play, so he’s the greatest “athlete” playing QB…he has a belief in our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ and he occasionally is a bit of a self promoter.

He is a vision of what athletes should be, and he is a leader. He just wasnt drafted by John Fox, and he got caught in a change at the top. He is owed 6 mil in salary, so he isnt going anywhere.

Not a big tebow guy, but I am starting to sense what everyone’s talking about when it comes to Merril Hoge.
Earlier on Mike & Mike In The Morning, He was given an option of “Who he thinks is the best QB” out of a group that included Brees/Rodgers/Rivers/Brady/Peyton and the dude picked ….Ben Roethlisberger.

Why?….
“Cause he can scramble better than those other guys…..”

After ripping on That Tebow dude for weeks for not being a “Pocket Passer.”
The dude picked Big Ben cause “he can scramble better than Rivers/Brees/Rodgers.”

Good call on comparing Esiason to Tebow as rookies. Dont have any opinion on Tebow but the piling on is getting well out of control.

Fully agreed with the need for commentators looking to make themselves appear as in depth analyzers of talent and try and scrape out another 10 minutes of fame to pump up their egos. Its the only explanation for it.

Who is next on their soapbox to try and get people to remember they exsist? Tim Hasselbeck? Daryl Johnson? Theismann?

This whole situation with Tebow brings up many questions. I just recently read where an unnamed Bronco official was quoted as saying Tebow still can’t take a snap from under center. Funny, last year he started 3 games at the end of his rookie year and that issue seemed to be solved. Don’t remember during the off season that being mentioned or brought up. But it is now mysteriously mentioned.

Considering he was a rookie last year he certainly looked good playing the last 3 games regardless of competition. We are talking NFL players, right? What’s interesting is the pundits who think Tebow can’t play point to the fact that Houston had such a horrible secondary; but these same pundits use Quinn’s decent playing in preseason against guys who many never play in the NFL as proof that he is better than Tebow.

Also I find it curious that no one on the team is saying much. As a matter of fact, the idiot (Hoge) made mention that “players know who deserves to be on the field”. Curios since Champ Bailey did nothing but talk about Tebow. his leadership and how the team would follow Tebow because of his work ethic. Curios that we don’t hear from Bailey anymore! Mmm I wonder why…gee you think that is from the head coach and management. So I guess Tebow HAS actually taken steps back in terms of leadership and work ethic!!

I could care less if Tebow makes it to the NFL, but considering his last 3 games of his rookie year you can’t dismiss him. It’s also curious to keep hearing how inaccurate Tebow is but goes 8-9 in his only real chance this summer.

Something is going on in Denver no doubt. Not sure if this is Elway betting that his popularity will hold off the fans but the bottom line is if the Broncos don’t do well and the management refuses to give Tebow a chance; there is going to be some heavy fan dissatisfaction with Fox & Elway. It mystifies me since Orton has shown great difficulties in the red zone that this coaching staff doesn’t design something for Tebow. Fans won’t be happy with Tebow on the bench and the Broncos kicking field goals all year because Fox & Elway are trying to prove their point about Tebow. And if they cut Tebow and he does go to a team that allows him to work on his mechanics and he does become a good qb, Fox, Elway & Hoge better take the next train out of town, because it will be embarrassing and their reputations will never recover, especially Hoge.

The bottom line is you cannot take those 3 games away from him no matter the reason. Those 3 games gave him the leeway to prove whether or not he can play. And ANY rookie qb who showed what he did at the end of their first year would have a lot more support from general football fans to be given a fair chance. The Tebow situation unfortunately HAS nothing to do with Tebow as a qb in the NFL, and is more an indictment about the sad state of affairs, that socially, this country is in.

I think the reason people like you say what you do is just to get a headline; Teebow is bigger stronger better looking and a better quarterback then you ever were. 11 touchdowns in his first three games started. Oh yeah horse face Elway had like three touchdowns his whole rookie year. If he cannot play then how is that the case 11 touchdowns in three games. How did he beat triple coverage with that deep ball in the preseason if he cannot throw. They did not let him throw the next game because they knew he would succeed again and they do not want to have a winner in Denver know Elway horse face is afraid the fans will like Teebow more after he wins super bowls. What is sick about you Boomer is that you are not being objective you are just jealous this kid is oozing with talent you never had. What people say is never gonna stop this kid from succeedign; Josh Mcdanials was right to draft him and if Miami was smart they would be calling Denver now and offering a first rounder for him yeah a first rounder because hi is the difference between the playoffs for the Dolphins and everyone getting fired this year with Henne in their. Matt Moore would be the perfect backup and helper for Teebow and Henne should be cut immediately. At the very least a second rounder and a fourth Miami wake up a lose the Henne and get the Teebow.

The bottom line is this: Boomer Esiason saying that Tebow sucks holds no more water than Mel Kiper saying that Jimmy Clausen is a top 10 QB, nor does it hold any more water than a Tebow lover saying the kid is God’s gift to the world. We see it year in and year out, “experts” saying that guys like Tom Brady and Kurt Warner can’t make it in this league while at the same time proclaiming guys like Joey Harrington, Ryan Leaf, and JaMarcus Russel to be Franchise Qbs. The only way debates like these get settled is on the field. People should not praise Tebow anymore than they should bash him simply because his body of work at an NFL level is so minimal. I realize that bashing Tebow is seen as the “cool” and “hip” thing to do, which is why so many people have jumped on that bandwagon, but right now there is no basis for it. Give the kid a chance to play first.

I truly believe the Oakland Raiders need a QB like Tim Tebow to become a force in the AFC. Whether he plays in Denver or not, I just can’t see him failing as an NFL QB, regardless of how the ball comes out of his hand.

I have never seen any player face this kind of scrutiny at this point in their career. It is disgraceful.

Everytime I have seen this kid play, he has never seen lost…he has never seen too far in over his head and he has kept his team competitive…as a ROOKIE!!!

So…what has he done to not earn the OPPORTUNITY to play in the league?
