Marcell Dareus hurts ankle at practice, seen on crutches

Buffalo Bills Training Camp Getty Images

A difficult week for the Buffalo Bills grew worse on Wednesday following an ankle injury to rookie defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.

Dareus was seen in the locker room with crutches and his ankle wrapped heavily, according to the Buffalo News. He reportedly suffered the injury Wednesday.

The Associated Press reports the Bills are awaiting test results to find out how serious the injury is.

The No. 3 overall pick has looked as good as advertised thus far, with two sacks in the preseason.  Buffalo has a lot of injuries right now; three of their starting linebackers missed practice Wednesday and two of their top three receivers are hurt.

Losing Dareus for an extended period would be a huge setback for the rebuilt defense.

i’m really on the edge of just giving up on this train wreck of a team. it almost seems as if they are trying their hardest to not win games. way to go on signing a free agent tackle .. this is the first time in a long time that i’m about to give up on them. this guy was the only one who i was excited about, and now he’s hurt? great, lets go get another high school free agent to fill his shoes. oh no, wait, i forgot we have merriman.. you know, the guy who plays every 17th game and gets hurt. go buy your jerseys people. or your brown bags.

I think the Bills could be a decent squad this year but right now injuries, the Evans trade and any possible Fred Jackson discontent are setting the team back (and I think Jackson is totally justified to be upset).

That being said if it sets the team back far enough for them to get Andrew Luck and a quality OT at the top of Round Two, all this just might be worth it.

They, at one time, held the attendance record for quite a few years, yet some are mentioning them as moving to L.A., Toronto, England, etc… Capitalist, greedy, illuminati pigs are out to screw this proud city of their rich tradition in the name of the BOTTOM LINE and it makes me sick.

Well CLOWN looks like you’re blowing smoke out your arse. As the following states:

Marcell Dareus was reportedly seen on crutches after Wednesday’s practice in Buffalo’s locker room. Dareus identified his injury in a Thursday morning radio appearance.
Appearing on KISS 98.5 radio, Dareus explained what happened in practice Wednesday.
“I got kicked in my calf and they said I bruised a muscle and they didn’t want to take a risk, so they sent me out of practice and I got some treatment,” Dareus said. ”We were stretching it out trying to get it back well.”
When asked if he’ll play in Saturday’s preseason home opener against Jacksonville, Dareus wasn’t certain.
“I don’t know right now,” he said. ”I want to play. I think I am going to play, but I don’t know just yet.”

No problem, buddy. I judge a fanbase by the interaction I have with them on gameday. Every Bills fan I’ve ever encountered at our stadium has been first class, respectful and extremely knowledgable about the game. More or less the polar opposite of Philadelphia fans. They are complete horse arse’s.
