But I can see how Vick’s stats, most of which were compiled on a different team over four years ago, mean the Eagles are falling apart in 2011.

The eagles were in posistion for a no.2 seed in the playoffs heading into the game, the vikings had nothing to really play for, they had that 5th string wr playing qb for them….
and The Eagles got beat down. idk if that should be considered a “preseason” game for the eagles considering what was on the line.

Vick has never had back to back winning seasons.

Vick has never produced in big games.

Vick has constantly had problems recognizing the blitz before the snap.

Vicks career passer rating is a 79.

He’s played 8 seasons & been hurt in half of them.

With the Eagle offensive line & Vick’s inability to read a pre-snap blitz, 2011 will be another year with him not making it through the season.

All this adds up to FIFTY TWO years without any championships Filthadelphia.

Once again in February we’ll all be hearing “just wait until next year!”

VY will be starting by week 8 after Vick gets broken in half for not sliding, or due to a C battery in the noggin from the Philthy fans.

There’s only so much Reid can do?!? REALLY?? How about coach? How about gametime adjustments? How about when the safety blitz kills your QB and is UNCHECKED THE WHOLE GAME you should just turn over everything to Vick, let him block his own blindside, pass before the rush comes, then run under his own pass to score. Reid is responsible for getting him some help, either a TE in to block the strong side blitz or keeping a back in there for protection.

And the offensive line was crap last year. That doesnt excuse Vick but we’re talking about the same O-Line that got Kevin Kolb concussed. When he doesnt pick up the Blitz in the regular season–then talk crap.

There’s only so much Reid can do.

That is the main reason why Im not worried and not listening to all the sky is falling predictions that came out after Vicks horrible game against the Steelers from the so called football “experts”

He wasnt running. I am about 95% sure that the Eagles coaching staff has told Vick not to run the ball during the preseason to avoid injury. Everyone knows Vick doesnt know how to slide so when it he runs its 100% effort. They cant risk him trying to make a play like the one he did after his 3rd INT.

You cant expect Vick to be anywhere near the same qb if he isnt allowed to run. His entire life he has had that as a safety net. So it has to throw of his mind if its not an option. So instead of being able to relax drop back and look for the best option with the knowledge that if a guy isnt open he can just run, now in the preseason when he drops back he knows that he has to find an open receiver or hes gonna get sacked, lose yardage, or throw an in completion.

That’s a lot of pressure to add to anyone. So its easy to see why he was forcing throws into double and triple coverage. The one thing that has made him such a dynamic player and has been his plan B(and sometimes plan A) and safety net for his entire life was taken away from him. He was doing something he never had to do before and it threw off his game and messed with him head.

That is why Im not worried. Its not like when the real season begins and the games start to count the Eagles are going to handcuff him like they have so far in the preseason. He will be allowed to play Mike Vick football. That doesnt mean running with ball ala 2004 Falcons. That means having the option to take off running. Giving him the peace of mind, the familiarity, the confidence, and the belief that he will be able to find an open receiver in time, but if not he will still be able to help his team advance the ball down the field and pick up a 1st down by pulling the ball down and taking off.

That is who Michael Vick is and its a part of his game that he greatly needs . That is why the preseason for Vick more then any other player shouldnt be taken seriously. Because the man you see on the field in those games who isnt allowed to run isnt even related to the free wheeling, elusive, rocket armed qb who took the league by storm last year and turned himself into a legitimate MVP Candidate.
