I will say that I was on Chris Johnson’s side for most of the summer on this. He is clearly grossly underpaid and RB’s have a short shelf life. The longer they wait to get paid, the older they get, and the less their value is. But when I heard that Bud Adams wants to make him the highest paid RB and that isn’t good enough for Johnson? He needs to take the money or sit.

And just what team might that be, MDS?
I’m trying really hard to think of a team that’s one Running Back (even a great one) away from the Super Bowl. Or even a team that might legitimately think they’re a Running Back away.

Colts, maybe? Don’t know if they have the cap room, and even if they did, there’s no way the Titans trade that guy within the division.

Patriots? Possibly, but I doubt they’d be willing to pay Johnson what he wants, which means he’d be their problem instead of some other teams. Doesn’t seem like the way that organization works.

The Jets seem to collect Running Backs like old ladies collect packets of saltines from Denny’s, but they’ve already got a surplus at the position for that very reason.

Redskins? Even Dan Snyder doesn’t think they’re one Running Back away from the Big One.

If running backs are worthless why are GM selecting them high in the draft? I guess you clowns know more than them. smh

There was only 1 RB drafted this year in the 1st round at #28 to the saints (ingram). 4 In the second 3 at the end so I don’t get this comment unless it was sarcasm.

That was a ridiculous arguement….Obviously you didnt watch this years draft. The first running back taken was Mark Ingram at 28th overall. How is that selecting a RB high. Obviously you know less than GMs and less than the everyone else on this post. Try checking facts before posting nonsense.

Yes, AP went 7. What other RB went “high” in the draft recently? Reggie Bush? Proves OUR point RB’s aren’t worth high draft picks. The best, by FAR, RB in this draft went at the END of rd1. Even your beloved CJ2K went near the bottom of rd1, that’s why he’s in this contract dispute in the first place.

Mike Lynn once thought a great running back was the final piece in a Super Bowl puzzle, but it turned out getting rid of that running back was the final piece in Dallas’ Super Bowl puzzle.

then you just go out there and tear the field up week in and week out.let your agent hash things out while you basically create a highlight reel for a future team if necessary.

id have no problem if a player came out and said they gave their team a chance to pay them and it didnt work out and even though the team matched an offer by another team they still left.

course most teams know a player wil almost never turn down money and just offer 2 or 4 million more then another team at the last second and the player will cave and forget everything he said 6 months ago.

Is Chris WANTING more money than he’s worth? YES

Will Bud Adams and the front office pay him WHAT he is worth? NO

It’s hard to watch all of the great players we have had in the past get less money than they are worth.

Is he the best player we have? HELL YES!! He needs a raise, make him at least a top Five paid back……he deserves that much
