Rooting for injuries? Naw. Expecting them, though. The Eagles have had a bad run of injuries when they play the Cowboys, you can’t really ice over it. Jay Ratliff broke Shawn Andrews. Roy Williams broke TO AND Donovan McNabb. Stewart Bradley got broken last year. The only Eagles players I’ve ever rooted to be injured are Vick and Andre Waters. Vick because he’s a sociopathic criminal that gets his jollies throwing Fifi into a ring with pit bulls, Waters because he threatened to take Emmit’s knees out before the 1992 playoff game (Emmitt steamrolled Waters on a 23 yard TD run and his teammates had to carry him off the field spread-”eagled” with a groin injury).

P.S. Sorry, but Eagles fans can’t lecture me on “bad form”. That’s like Jeffrey Lurie lecturing Jerry Jones on what it takes to win a Super Bowl.

So I guess this will save Demarcus Ware the trouble of breaking his back the old fashioned way.

Offensive linemen aren’t “sexy”. Style over substance. That should be the Eagles’ motto.

Far too early to say the Eagles should not have drafted Watkins (or any rookie on any team). They simply have not had enough time to practice with their new teams and systems. I am sure Mudd’s system in particular is tough for a lineman to pick up. It is totally different than how lineman are used to being coached.

none of us are fortune tellers…..but going INTO the season, you have the weakest group….and its not even close right now. yes, eight weeks from now, i may be singing a different tune. as it is though, i only have the ability to live in the present….and presently the eagles LB’er group leaves a ton to be desired.

can a bunch of very young, mid to late round picks form a solid linebacker group? of course they can….but until they do, they wont be too highly regarded.

I’m only concerned with RT. Dunlap isn’t the answer and who knows what’s going on with Justice. Watkins will be fine by opening day and Peters and Herremans are one of the best LT, LG combos in the league. Jackson will be back at C where he is a potential pro bowler.

Cowboys line is looking great. Tyron Smith was best lineman in draft and is doing great. They have 2 young athletic rookies both worthy of starting at Left Guard. And they have one of the top 5 left tackles statistically in the league in Doug Free, a highly sought after free agent they resigned. Kosier, a veteran guard is the right guard and 5 time pro bowler is the Center. Get your facts straight before you make a stupid comment. Cowboys line is far better than the Eagles.

The Eagles should get about 7 weeks out of Vic and 2 meltdown weeks out of VY

If you even say anything about the Packers game, that will get thumbs down too because one preseason game isn’t enough to judge the group on.

They may be the worst, but the truth is, I’ve only seen enough of Fokou to make an assessment. Chaney was a stud last year and Mathews is a rookie. Chaney could have been a fluke and Mathews could be rock solid. Make your comment after week 8 and see what kind of response it gets.

This news is yet another problem for the dream team – it just keeps getting worse on that O-line. Reality is really setting in here. Not to mention LB issues, WR depth with Maclin’s potential issues, and lastly Vick and his history of being injured. If that line plays like it did against Pittsburgh, Philly is in HUGE trouble.

You want the Eagles to re-sign an oft-injured player (chronic Low Back problems and questionable drive for the game) they cut to replace another injured player also with Low Back problems? It just isn’t smart, but then again……. Nah. The Eagles ownership and coaching aren’t dumb. They just can’t win a SB.

Everybody is making a fuss about the Cowboy’s young line, and all the changes they have made are supposedly going to be a negative. Colombo and Davis getting cut was a good move (even though Davis could be back, it still freed up cap space). I think the Cowboy’s line is going to make its mistakes early in the season, and they will then really start hitting their stride at some point with enough playing time and consistency at their positions. Gurode, Free, and Kosier are the returning starters for now. Costa could join Smith and Arkin on the line dependent upon Gurode’s play after the start of the regular season. All 3 young guys could be starting together later in the season along with Free (who is young himself at 27 yrs old), and then only Kosier is the guy in his 30′s. This line is much younger, will be much improved, and you will see Romo and the offense playing well as a result.

Bring it on, Philly. You don’t scare anybody.
