Titans sign Kevin Curtis

Last year Kevin Curtis became one of the best stories in the NFL, returning to the field in December after surgery for testicular cancer in September. Now Curtis has his chance to return to the NFL for another season.

The Tennessee Titans announced this afternoon that they’ve signed Curtis. The Titans’ decision to sign an experienced veteran who could step in on short notice could be an indication that they’re expecting Kenny Britt to be suspended.

Last year Curtis played briefly for the Dolphins in the regular season and then was released and signed to play in a playoff game for the Chiefs.

The 33-year-old Curtis had his best season in 2007, when he started all 16 games for the Eagles and caught 77 passes for 1,110 yards.

Ever since he broke in with the Rams, I’ve always enjoyed watching this guy play and there are few guys in the NFL with as much heart, courage and tenacity as this guy.

I think that 07 year he had is just more of a fact in how bad the WR core was in Philly for many years lol

A man that embodies what the WR position is all about. Has smarts, speed, toughness….Titans got a good one.

Great no risk signing. Loved him in Philly. Stay healthy Kevin. Show Kenny Britt some class.

If Pryor gets suspended for 5 games for something he did while playing college ball, NFL should make an example of this idiot Britt.

Good move by the Titans… BUT they cut the wrong guy to make room for him WR Joe Hills 6-4 210. He’s young and hungry. They should have cut Gage!!

I was a big Titans fan back in the day.. McNair, George.. Wycheck… Oh how the mighty have fallen. I do like Curtis though, but I don’t think this team does much this year.

Not sure how the first comment to this story can get any thumbs down. Some people seem to just dislike any comment no wonder how good or appropriate it may be.

I like the guy, he’s an ok player that gives his all…but maybe it’s worth noting that he had testicular cancer because of his steroid usage.

    sftitan,

There are just those butt-hurt haters out there, and they are probably Texan, Jags, or Colts fans who put the thumbs down. Or maybe they just hate Curtis.

Curtis was always good when healthy – fast with good hands, and the ability to stretch the field. He isn’t Kenny Britt by any means, but he could be effective in the interim.

Good luck, Curtis. Titans will need help with Britt suspended (and suspended for good reason). The guy is a dumb-arss.

I was at that anniversary game in philly vs the lions where he had 221 yds and 3 tds. This guy can play. This is a good pick up for the titans.

I still wear my Kevin Curtis Eagles jersey proudly! I root for him wherever he goes. Class act and a hell of a player.

Tenacity may be the most important quality for any person to have.

I hope he has a great season. But even if he doesn’t…this man is a winner!

I’m a Texans fan. Kevin is a warrior. I hope he
does great this season, not so much the Titans,
    of course. Great pick up.
