Metlife Stadium in “good shape” after storm

Although roughly 1.8 million people in New York and New Jersey are without power, Hurricane Irene could have been a lot of worse in the area.  Cleanup is underway on Sunday with the storm passed.

Zach Berman of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that Metlife Stadium is in “good shape” after the storm. (That’s the new name for the Giants/Jets home for those who are behind on their corporate naming news.)

While mass transit in New York City and surrounding areas may be slow to re-start, the Giants-Jets game rescheduled for Monday night at 7 p.m. ET should safely go off.

  1. Wow as an Eagles fan I’m disappointed by the new name. Some of the greatest moments in the Eagles- Giants rivalry happened in the Meadowlands and it just sounds weird to call the stadium anything else

  2. A few facts for the stupid in other words the escum fans
    It was only called the Meadowlands Stadium for one season the old place was called Giants Stadium.

    Fact when the escum come to play if any of there fans can scrap up the money go visit and see something you will never ever see at the Stink that is 3 Super Bowl Trophies

    Fact Escum fans are inbread and there women for those that are into women after all it is the city of brotherly love anyway your women all want to go home with Giants fans as we dont live in places called fishtown

    It’s very refreshing to hear from an Eagles fan that actually realizes that the Giants-Eagles rivalry has been going on for longer than the last 3 years.

    @vdaigglesfan:
    Please do a little checking before you post that typical Eagle fan inanity “The Philadelphia-Owned Giants”. Rivalry is all-time (NOT just the last 3 years), and the Giants are 84-72-2 vs. the Eagles. That don’t sound “owned” to me.

  4. That Giant fan just absolutely owned that Eagle fan and there are no factual stats to argue that point. Talk about getting owned… Ouch.
