what lack of attendance? The Vikings have sold out every game for 14 years now. Maybe you should do a little research before you open your trap, the only reason LA is even a possibility is because the lease for the new stadium is up. Attendance has nothing to do with it.

With the play of a 10-12 loss team and the potential danger to human safety caused by the roof this is no surprise. This still wont sell out those games naturally. You may also have to sign a waiver at the box office. True story.

for example:

vs the giants week one the absolute cheapest upper level available on stubhub is $70.00

vs cowboys upper lever ranges from $106-$170 per ticket

1. where is the contradiction? it is a verizon wireless promo selling a MN viking product, it is not a vikings promo, they just approved it for Verizon and are not losing any money as verizon is paying the difference in tix, the vikings had nothing to do with the promo EXCEPT OK IT. if you cannot understand that english u should get off computer & text only.

2. if u want to consider me naive or ignorant, good for you, you probably consider anyone smarter than you as such, im the one that talked to ppl in offices at winter park, see them 4 or 5 times a year at events, and talk to them in person……..oh but thats right, YOU THINK YOU KNOW BETTER……so just go finish your grain belt.

81,000? When was the list actually culled for the real world? Sounds nice but when it’s free to get on it doesn’t mean much.

The Vikings have sold out every game since 1998 despite playing in the worst inflatable diaper of a stadium in the LEE. By most accounts Lambeau is one of the best fan experiences in the league. Believe me, if they build it, the fans will come, look at Target Field.

The atmosphere is pretty good when you’re in your seat and the game is going on, but you have to deal with terrible food options, concourses so narrow you have several near-sexual experiences every time you leave to get a stale hot dog, having to use your binoculars to see the replays on the scoreboard, and ear-splitting noise pumped in during every break in the action. Just because many of us prefer watching the game on our HDTVs doesn’t mean we don’t support our team. Build that stadium and it will be the hottest ticket in town.

The Vikings are not screwing season ticket holders by discounting the price of some seats, unless season ticket holders were told when they bought the seats that the price would never change. You buy the tickets at a discount from the single-game price and you’re guaranteed your seats. If you don’t like it, wait until later and buy single-game tickets in the hope that they’ll drop the price. Everything was done above board here.

i was not in the room talking with executives. i understood how it happened was a Verizon promo that the Vikings approved, it was not Vikings idea nor are Vikings taking a hit on tix, Verizon is covering the lost cost,which is why i assume it has something to do with TV ads & apple had reported recently that a new deal with Verizon is coming out this fall on new iphone. This promo seems to be much more a verizon marketing issue i think than a Vikings one. but Vikings have to approve any promo associated with them.

Yes times are tough, NFL and other teams have already discounted nosebleed seats cause for average joe it is much smarter to go out & buy a HDTV for 600 when you can easily wipe that out in 2 game day experiences. Also, Verizon is covering the cost. For the Wilfs it is a great opportunity to hopefully grab some new Vikings fans with cheap tix & show the legislature they can still sell out for new stadium efforts. You would do the exact same thing if you owned a team in this situation vying for a new stadium.

You have no clue & do not care bout the team as much as i do to call me a naive season tix holder. I dream and bleed purple year after year & would love to have a new stadium for tailgating, game day experience, etc and all ways look at the big picture of the team. Just like i hated Favre, while he was exciting & fun to watch, he was also media mahem and brought more crap with him to this team than it ever deserved & last coach got what he deserved for it. im sure you are not a vikings fan or season tix holder to make such a moronic claim. there are perks that season tix holders do receive that most people are not aware of.

Pack are sold out every game. How many decades of playing in Milwaukee did that take? Without those decades of playing in another city, along with selling the team to shareholders, the Pack would have moved years ago to a bigger market.

The Packers have sold out every game for decades, even in the God-awful 70′s and 80′s. There are currently over 88,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets and the list has been crazy like that for 50 years or more.

They’ve also managed to win more NFL championships than any other team, despite being in the smallest market in the league.

The fact that you find nothing special in any of that is exactly why Minnesota is the laughing stock that it is. You people are clueless, always have been, and likely always will be.

What the team really needs to address before the season starts is signing Adrian Peterson to a long-term contract.

If you want to show the fans you’re serious about winning, that’s the first step I’d take. If Peterson is allowed to play the season without a new contract, he’ll be playing his final year in a Viking uniform. What does the front office think that will do for ticket sales?

Four day promotion that is lightly advertised. Vikings haven’t struggled to sell out a home opener in over a decade so most likely there aren’t a ton of tickets left. NFL stadiums I believe aren’t allowed to slash ticket prices at will so most likely Verizon is eating this difference in return for some kind of promotional consideration.
