The neck injury that knocked Patriots receiver Wes Welker out of Saturday night’s game was not serious.

I’m OK,” Welker said as he walked out of the locker room after the game, per Ian R. Rapoport of the Boston Herald.

Welker got hurt while tackling Lions safety Ricardo Silva, who had intercepted a Tom Brady pass intended for Chad Ochocinco. The play was one of many on which everything seemed to be going wrong for the Patriots in their 34-10 loss.

Brady said he was confident Welker would shake it off quickly.

“He’s a tough guy,” Brady said. “There’s nobody tougher than Wes Welker. He’s mentally, physically, he’s as good as there is.”
