When the Giants expand there over all W-L record againest the tenents to 8-4
The Giants have owned the jets in regular season play
That is what matters

As for Rivers his whinny crybaby crap would not work in the NY NJ area he is better off with the whine and chess crowd in SD

Question for Sanchez haters: Seriously… what is it about Sanchez that generates so much hate? He hasn’t improved in two years? 4-2 playoff record with him being a big part of those wins still not good enough? Just hate the Jets and will never say a good thing about them? I can’t help but think that Sanchez would be getting a ton more props if he played in Denver or Atlanta and led his teams to 2-straight conference title games?

I’ll give pigskinswag some props for voicing a Sanchez opinion without ripping him personally.

Look, no one in his right mind is comparing Sanchez to Brady, Brees, P. Manning, Rodgers, etc. But all things considered, he’s gotten better and has played well in big situations. That has to count for something.

The sports media outlets like BSpn and cBS latch on to certian players/teams and constantly tell us that they can do no wrong, and when they do, there’s a truckload of excuses. Remember when they all thought that Tony Romo was the greatest thing since sliced bread? Now he’s an afterthought when they talk about quarterbacks. Mark Sanchez is slightly more talented version of Jim McMahon, IMO.

The argument that Eli Manning is better than Philip Rivers because “he” won a Super Bowl is ridiculous. RIDICULOUS. For those who actually watched that game, it was the Giants DEFENSE that came up big in that game. I must have went to grab a beer when Eli Manning lined up at defensive end and sacked Tom Brady. To say that Eli is elite because of a Super Bowl win implies that Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, and Jim McMahon are all elite quarterbacks, and we all know they weren’t. In my opinion, neither are elite, but Rivers is slightly closer to elite than Manning. Don’t believe me? Look at the numbers:

Career Stats
Eli Manning:
Regular Season: 58.0% completion %, 21,329 yards 146 TDs, 104 INTs

Postseason: 59.1% completion %, 1,297 yards 7 TD, 7 INT

Philip Rivers:
Regular Season: 63.7% Completion %, 19,661 136 TDs, 58 INT

Postseason: 58.5% Completion %, 1,820 8 TDs, 9 INTs

Based on the numbers, Rivers is regular season elite, but he transforms into Eli Manning in the postseason. And the only thing elite about Eli Manning is that his name would be Elite if you added a “t” and an “e” to his name.

How come no one talks about how awful the sanchise is. Talk about a team winning in spite of their qb. He was like the 27th rated passer last year. No one ever questions his ability to play the position. It’s funny when the media is on your side all they talk about is how resilient he is. The guy is a bum who makes one good throw per game. If the jets had a quality vet at qb they would have a chip by now. To use an old reference mark Sanchez you are the weakest link, goodbye. Maybe the media will stop slurping this guy and start pointing out his flaws as a qb.

Love how everyone is hating on Eli. His postseason in 2007 alone has made him a legend. He executed the greatest drive in Super Bowl history, threw the greatest pass in NFL History, and defeated an 18-0 team that was arguably the greatest team off all-time.

johnyshore–How many Super Bowls do the Chargers have, you ask? I see you left out the Steelers’ Super Bowl rings and the large role Big Ben played in those. But to your point, the Chargers have zero rings. But Rivers was the QB of the #1 offense last year while playing without Gates and Vincent Jackson most Sundays. As for your boy Eli, he led the NFL in interceptions last year. And as for Eli’s ring, you seem to forget the much larger role the Giants’ insane pass rush played in derailing the Pats’ perfect season. But that’s ok, by your twisted logic Bill Cartwright was a better center for the Bulls than Ewing was for the Knicks–because Cartwright had more rings!

Unreal, as much as a dislike Phillip Rivers I’m just not stupid enough to think the Giants got the best of that deal.

Manning isn’t even in Rivers class, and on top of getting the better QB the Chargers got Merriman and a good kicker out of the deal with the picks.

Winning a SB is Manning’s only thing he has over Rivers. Trent Dilfer, Joe Thiesmann, Jim McMahon, Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Doug Williams and Brad Johnson also have that over Rivers and Marino for that matter.

Point is having won a superbowl means jack, they would have won that superbowl with Rivers also IMHO.
