Jennings was brought in for depth.. he’s not starting here like he did in Seattle. Just like McDonald wouldn’t start here, but will for Seattle in time.

It’s a decent trade for both sides. jennings will play the role of back up nickle back to Morgan Trent.

And Zimmer finished his interview saying more trades are coming involving the Bengals defense. That leads me to believe they are in on another safety.

The point being McDonald wasn’t worth that much to us. We only initially drafted him in the seventh as kind of a contingency scenario. Jennings was drafted by the hawks to be a starter. He has barely gotten playing time because he isn’t a high caliber player. Jennings won’t start for us. He’ll be lucky to be 4th on the depth chart as opposed to a McDonald who spent his first year on the practice squad and saying he got playing time last year in 9 games is an overstatement

I’m sure he was a less than stellar player when guarding number 1 WR’s on teams but if he’s a package guy then I can’t see how it’s a bad pick up. We gave up McDonald (who struggled to make our team) for a guy who has a chance to fit in.

Everyone is acting like we gave up this awesome player for Jennings. There is a reason why the article is called “Seahawks send Kelly Jennings to Bengals” instead of “Seawhawks trade Kelly Jennings for Clinton McDonald” No one knows who Clinton is people know of Jennings. Neither this isn’t a high impact trade for either team.

You figured this was coming after he started the year 5th on the CB depth chart after starting last year. He wasn’t as bad as I thought last year but still wasn’t good.

Adding a D Lineman – the area on the team with the most depth. WTF is Schneider/Carroll doing?! How about some O-line help – the two rookies on the right side are a disaster!!!!

Were you perhaps expecting to get a starting offensive lineman in exchange for a cornerback who was probably going to be let go for nothing?

This seems to be a “depth move”. I could see it being the end of the line for a guy like Siavii, since McDonald is only 24 and would appear to have more upside. Regardless, after last year, where the run defense fell apart after losing Cole, Mebane, and Bryant, is there such a thing as too much depth on the defensive line?

We needed help in the secondary and already have our two starting corners. I can’t imagine he’ll be any worse than our current back ups. Plus we did have some wiggle room on the D-line.

For all the Seahawk fans bashing the Bengals for trading for this guy. Clinton was a seventh round draft choice…Kelly was a first. You do the math.

This was a decent move by the Hawks, getting rid of that slow midget Kelly Jennings.

And lol at the story about the Bengals “improving” with the addition of Jennings. They’d be better off starting a young dude from the practice squad than Jennings. The the move last year with Josh Wilson was to get something for a guy that was in the last year of his contract, but everyone knew JW could ball. A lot of us were sad to see him go. Jennings however is the worst CB out there and I can’t even begin to tell you how relieved I am that I never have to see this guy again.

Thank you Cinnci for taking him! Even if the ‘Hawks got nothing in return it would’ve been addition by subtraction.
