APThere haven’t been a lot of surprises in the first list of cuts provided by teams.
The Titans provided one on Monday, when they cut defensive tackle Jovan Haye and eight others, according to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean. Haye has started 46 games over the last four years, two of those years played for Tennessee. He ran with the starters during camp.
Tennessee also let go safety Nick Schommer, a seventh round in 2009 by Tennessee. The other six who met the Turk: quarterback Brett Ratliff, fullback Patrick Hill, receiver Owen Spencer, long snapper John Stokes, punter Chad Cunningham and linebackers Kevin Malast and Jonathan Cornell.

Paging paging Jovan Haye, this is the Denver Broncos.
I dont think Jovan Haye is what the broncos need. They need another big mauling lineman, I’d compare Haye more to a DE that plays inside… Though I presonally think he’s a good player, Tennessee clearly did not.
Hurney and Rivera will be giving this guy a call.
“The Turk” is actually from Azerbajan, originally. But with his swarthy features, drooping moustache, thick accent, and day job driving cab, everyone just started calling him the Turk.
The Panthers have got to consider signing him with their depth (or lack thereof) at defensive tackle.
The Panthers need to be sitting by that waver wire phone like it’s a call in radio gameshow.
Though I presonally think he’s a good player, Tennessee clearly did not.
He is. He just didn’t fit the scheme
Carolina NEEDS to sign this guy, their defensive line, usually the tackles, are making guys look like pro bowlers, they need to call Jovan right now.

Yes, the Panthers will be calling.
I met Jonathan Cornell before the game on Saturday (I’m a Bears fan that stayed in the same hotel).
Sad to see him cut, he seemed like a really nice guy. I hope he gets a chance with another team.
