SP is a former undersized QB, who in 5 or 6 years will have a kid old enough to start playing organized football. I think Sean will be there to coach his kid in high school as an undersized QB to State Title in TEXAS probably at some wealthy school in the Dallas metroplex.

The same area were he scouted undersized QB Chase Daniels ( the Saints backup QB) when he was playing h.s. ball for South Lake Carol and won a State 5A Title Game (also Saint's long snapper & kicker Garret Hartley played on same team.)

Not to mention the star of his team (Drew Brees) is another slightly undersized QB, who led his high school football team to a 16-0 record winning the 5A Texas State Title for Austin-Westlake High School.

Think about it. It makes too much sense. DB & SP are a once in a lifetime QB-Head Coach pair, like Montana-Walsh. It's all down hill from there and I'm sure he's excited to coach his son into stardom someday.

I know their is a love affair in NO with Peyton bc he brought u guys a Super Bowl which is understandable. But after the drug, Cowboys s rumors, Seahawks loss and now a comment like that, its probably about time you start looking at Peyton without your Black and Gold glasses on.

It probably wont happen now, but if the Saints keep losing like they did last year to Seattle, you guys will probably look back at this comment and think thats why the Saints couldnt become a dynasty or atleast a pernial NFC power. Not because they didnt have the talent but because their coach didnt have the will or the mindset to do it.

---------------------------------------------------

Payton has already said in the past he doesn't plan to spend 20 years coaching. He wants to have his run with the Saints and move on to retirement or a front office job.

Hearing him say he's in for another 5-6 years is welcome news to me. That's the only surprising thing....I didn't see him being around that much longer.

That's just a weird thing for a coach to say. You would never here a guy like Bill Belicheck or Andy Reid say they plan only to coach a successful team in their city for another 5 or 6 years. Basically as long as their starting qb is still in the league. We at least we know Andy Reid would never think that. That guy doesnt believe in windows closing. Especially not do to a qb change. He believes he can train up a new qb before his old ones career is over and plug them right in and keep on winning.

I also believe Bellicheck would never say anything like that but I dont know if he could stop it from happening. Yes he has had great teams in New England. And yes him and Peyton both have Rings and Reid doesnt. But what we do know is that Bellicheck has never coached a successful team that didnt have Tom Brady at qb. He was the head coach of the Browns for 4 years and only made the playoff once and got bounced out early. His 1st season in NE he went 5-11. The year after going 19-1 Tom Brady tore his ACL and Matt Cassel(who has proven to be a good qb) stepped in and they didnt make the playoffs. That was an extremely talented team which still had a top 20 QB under center. There is no way that team shouldnt have made the playoffs. For the genius everyone claims him to be he hasnt really done anything without Tom Brady under center. And even with Tom Brady under center he hasnt won a playoff game without Scott Pioli. But anyway he is still the 2nd longest tenured coach in the NFL and has continually put out a high quality product every year.

Coaches like Reid or Bellicheck would never think let alone tell the public that they can only compete for a title for as long as they still have their all pro caliber qb under center. I guess that's the difference between great coaches with longevity in the sport bc they put together teams that constantly compete for titles and good coaches who cant last more then 6 or 7 year in one place bc they can only put together short strings of success and 1 year wonders.

Sounds about right. He brought them their only title and he can't possibly do worse than anyone who has come before him.

And as far as the run ending when Brees retires, well where will the Patriots be when Brady hangs it up. Hell, where will the Colts be when Manning retires? That's the other sharp edge to that sword.

Just enjoy 'em while there here, DVD the games and play 'em when the team sucks again.

as for payton, he'll be in new orleans as long as brees is there obviously, and then most likely will head to dallas to be a gm NOT a coach. he's the only person who could wrangle the gm job away from ol' jerry.

The ring is impressive and all, but think how many rings they would have had if they DIDN’T let Aaron Brooks go.

-----------------

Are you claiming that the New Orleans Saints were destined to win multiple super bowls with Aaron Brooks? The same Aaron Brooks that was benched in 2005 for Todd Bouman? The Aaron Brooks who could barely hold his own when he went to Oakland? Or the Aaron Brooks who had his franchise passing records shattered by Drew Brees within 3-4 years? Are you insane?

—————–

Are you claiming that the New Orleans Saints were destined to win multiple super bowls with Aaron Brooks? The same Aaron Brooks that was benched in 2005 for Todd Bouman? The Aaron Brooks who could barely hold his own when he went to Oakland? Or the Aaron Brooks who had his franchise passing records shattered by Drew Brees within 3-4 years? Are you insane?

Kind of sad that he is planning on leaving as soon as Brees is done. I guess he knows that Drew is the only reason they got the Lombardi.

I think you're totally underestimating the importance of Brett Favre and Brad Childress to the Saints Super Bowl victory....
