Another year, another Vikings player is dealing with a serious hip injury.
Linebacker Jasper Brinkley, the team’s backup middle linebacker, underwent hip surgery on Tuesday, according to Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Brinkley could be headed for season-ending injured reserve.
Brinkley has been a key contributor on special teams. The Vikings signed well-traveled linebacker David Herron last week, and he immediately stepped in as the primary backup to E.J. Henderson.

Is anybody else getting the feeling that the vikes might not win more than 3-4 games this year…
And in other news, the Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a 5 year 40 million dollar contract in 2012 with Jasper Brinkley.
Our depth at linebacker wasn’t spectacular to begin with, and now injuries at the position are mounting. We need E.J., his brother and Greenway to stay healthy the whole year.
Awful news. We couldn’t have lost a player at a thinner position. Our LB depth is horrible. And Herron already looks bad. I hope we sign a veteran backup MLB for the season.
GUESS HE WON’T BE AN EAGLE

Typical Minnesota Viking thinking. Sign someone who can’t make a better teams roster. When will they ever learn to develop??

__________
Yes. I’ve noticed a lot of Packer fans who are obsessed with the Vikings are predicting that.
Yow…. Better hope the starters can stay healthy.
What’s with all the hip surgery in Minny?
Must be the women.
Don’t worry!
Packers will probably be cutting linebackers.
Check the waiver wire.
Why is it that Packer fans always post on Viking news ?…….. What an insecure bunch of ” band wagon ” fans …..
I know Leber was not a middle linbacker but I do think it would have been wise to hang on to him.
Hear, hear thephantomstranger, all I hear about is how Packers fans love, and support their team bla, bla, bla, but all I see posted (on this site at least) are negative comments about their division rivals as if they are very insecure about their own team.
sadly, the vikings need to start watching the waiver wire for safety’s, LB’s, & maybe CB’s too.
Thx Chili for the depth (haha) u left us with.
Terrible… just terrible… they were talking about this on the Power Trip yesterday. E.J. and Erin need to be absolutely careful this year, we’re gonna need them.
Maybe we should have kept Leaber

___________
Great take. The guy we’re developing had hip surgery, genius. You think the Packers never sign someone who was cut by another team? Ever heard of Ryan Grant?
Actually, the Packers traded a 6th round pick for Ryan Grant in 2007, but don’t let the facts get in the way.
Actually- Walden ,Green and Nance were free agent pick ups just last year for the Pack- for depth issues due to injury.
Farwell ,Onatulu are battiling injuries and Brinkley is on IR. The Vikes picking up a FA cut is differnt exactly how?
Once agin showing yhe hypocritical side of the Packer fanbase.
Don’t let FACTS get in YOUR way though.
Sounds like you’ve been reading too much Supersuckers propoganda.
