Does the O-Line need work yes, but it will get fixed and frankly with Vick we don’t need the typical perfect O-Line that most teams need when the protection breaks down he runs.

And when Vick runs, Vick gets smashed. Where was all that crap when he was throwing 1 TD against 4 INTs and a fumble in the preseason?

By the way this Team that seems to be Drafting early each year in the Draft sure gets a lot a play for being a below average NFL Team and it has been that way for many a year now.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cowboys recently completed a run that is equal to any run the Eagles have had since before Jeffrey Lurie was born. They had five winning seasons in a row. Also, 45 Super Bowls have been played. There are 32 teams in the NFL. Every team that has been in the NFL since the merger and has not won a Super Bowl is "below average" by definition. Even if they had won a Super Bowl, the Eagles would still be a below average franchise for their entire existence (because they have an all-time losing record).

When Suh gets a hold of him, he’ll be knocked out. And and for good measure Guenther will have Fairley back by then and they plan to rotate Vanden Bosch out and have a line of LDE – Avril – LDT – Fairley, RDT – Corey Williams, and RDE (yes they are going to put Suh out there at time)

Who? Lions fans are so cute. 10 years of losing records has made y'all crazy. 0-16! haha

The Cowboys O-Line has looked better in the preseason that it has in 10 years, we been running screen passes something our old line could never do. I have seen linemen down field blocking something that Columbo, Davis and Gurrade never did.

Plus Costa can make the line calls, Gurrade never did it was always Kosier the guard.

Last year everyone said our weakness was left tackle and that Free couldn't hack it. At years end he graded out as the 3rd best left tackle in the league.

Garrett has told his coaches what Jimmy used to tell his coaches, do not look at the numbers on the jerseys when watching film, watch the player.

They watched the film and 3 olinemen are gone.

Time will tell.

This Jerry Jones could have been a Used Car Salesmen. You lose a 5 Time Perennial Pro Bowl Beast of a Center and you try and cut him down to down play how stupid you look. I am sure a bunch of people believe your "Pro Bowl Experience" is overrated, lol.

Same old same old when America's Team was told to go take a Flying ? by Nnamdi and you put out there Nnamdi Really Wanted To Be A Cowboy, Nnamdi gets what he wants and if he wanted to be a Cowboy he would have. Heck even Huff from the Raiders told you to go jump off a Bridge when you contacted him during Free Agency.

By the way this Team that seems to be Drafting early each year in the Draft sure gets a lot a play for being a below average NFL Team and it has been that way for many a year now. Get over your self Jerry and Good Luck with the Rookie lol

paulnoga says:Aug 31, 2011 12:17 PM

As the great John Madden said, “you win by having an excellent Offensive line and Defensive backfield”. the Cowboys have neither. The Eagles have O Line and D line problems, The Giants have O line and DB problems, and the redskins just have problems. What the heck, the Redskins could win the Division.

Where is the problem on the D-Line? The Eagles have a great D-Line tons of depth at DT and a very good DE rotation!

Does the O-Line need work yes, but it will get fixed and frankly with Vick we don't need the typical perfect O-Line that most teams need when the protection breaks down he runs.

As for the Redskins winning the Division you have to be smoking crack!

Gurode was a fairly valuable member of the Cowboys O-Line, however his accomplishments have been pushed out of proportion due to his numerous pro bowl berths which can be attributed to the fact that he is simply just one of the few centers that is well-known and the Cowboys previous offensive success, and no longer due to his actual play.

Gurode may be seen on the decline but is a serviceable option for center despite coming off of knee surgery at age 32, however he was expendable and pushed out of a starting position whether through his own ineptness or Costa's actual rise. It's actually refreshing to see that a player such as Gurode who has obtained such honors as his pro bowl visits can still held honest and forced to work for a position on a team rather than being handed one for previous performances in years past. The position was his too lose and if he didn't feel like he had to push himself to stay ahead of Costa or anyone else than the team is better off without him. Gurode and the rest of the line had to be on alert after they surrendered the 11th most sacks in the league last year. Gurode should have known this was coming after watching Leonard Davis and Marc Colombo getting cut, that should have been a wake up call to perhaps put some more effort into his attempt to retain his job.

And he could probably have actually been retained by the Cowboys if he had been willing to take a pay cut, but he chose not to for whatever his reasons may have been. Gurode has the ability (perhaps even the talent?) to be able to switch to a guard position which is certainly a position of need for the Cowboys, however this was all predicated on him taking a pay cut. Gurode can still start for many teams, but he is not worth the price his contract called for. A 32-year-old offensive lineman coming off of arthroscopic knee surgery who also just had a very down year doesn't exactly translate to being worth $5.5 million this year.

If you can’t pay that salary to a backup, how does Jones justify himself getting any money at all for being the GM?

He doesn’t get money for being the GM. He gets money for being the owner. You don’t really believe that he takes money from his left pocket and puts it in his right pocket and calls it his “salary”, do you?

As a Eagles fan I'll be the 1st person to admit that our O-line has question marks . We may have a LB issue too , but in what world does our d-line have problems ? We have 2 ends who are both coming off 12 and a half sack years(Cole,Babin) . We have one of the better pash rushing DT's in the league with Jenkins , Two really good run-stopping tackles (Dixon,Patterson) and great depth (DE's Parker,Tapp,Graham) (DT's Hargrove,Laws,Landri) . Landri started every game last year and he might not even make the team , same with Parker (8sacks last year) . Most teams have ? marks and Philly is no exception, but they are strong in alot of places too including CB,QB,WR,RB,DL,TE . Dallas and NY have a shot , but you need to stop smoking if you really think Wash will win the East !!
