The Cowboys recently completed a run that is equal to any run the Eagles have had since before Jeffrey Lurie was born. They had five winning seasons in a row. Also, 45 Super Bowls have been played. There are 32 teams in the NFL. Every team that has been in the NFL since the merger and has not won a Super Bowl is “below average” by definition. Even if they had won a Super Bowl, the Eagles would still be a below average franchise for their entire existence (because they have an all-time losing record).

Gotta love Chargers fans. Seems its the fans of teams that never won anything that whine the most about the Five Time Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys. Remember when you guys were making fun of the Cowboys for taking Demarcus Ware instead of Shawne Merriman? How’d that work out for ya?

As the great John Madden said, “you win by having an excellent Offensive line and Defensive backfield”. the Cowboys have neither. The Eagles have O Line and D line problems, The Giants have O line and DB problems, and the redskins just have problems. What the heck, the Redskins could win the Division.

Where is the problem on the D-Line? The Eagles have a great D-Line tons of depth at DT and a very good DE rotation!

Does the O-Line need work yes, but it will get fixed and frankly with Vick we don’t need the typical perfect O-Line that most teams need when the protection breaks down he runs.

As for the Redskins winning the Division you have to be smoking crack!

Right, because everybody knows that NFL GM salaries are non-taxable personal income as far as the IRS is concerned.

Gurode may be seen on the decline but is a serviceable option for center despite coming off of knee surgery at age 32, however he was expendable and pushed out of a starting position whether through his own ineptness or Costa’s actual rise. It’s actually refreshing to see that a player such as Gurode who has obtained such honors as his pro bowl visits can still held honest and forced to work for a position on a team rather than being handed one for previous performances in years past. The position was his too lose and if he didn’t feel like he had to push himself to stay ahead of Costa or anyone else than the team is better off without him. Gurode and the rest of the line had to be on alert after they surrendered the 11th most sacks in the league last year. Gurode should have known this was coming after watching Leonard Davis and Marc Colombo getting cut, that should have been a wake up call to perhaps put some more effort into his attempt to retain his job.

And he could probably have actually been retained by the Cowboys if he had been willing to take a pay cut, but he chose not to for whatever his reasons may have been. Gurode has the ability (perhaps even the talent?) to be able to switch to a guard position which is certainly a position of need for the Cowboys, however this was all predicated on him taking a pay cut. Gurode can still start for many teams, but he is not worth the price his contract called for. A 32-year-old offensive lineman coming off of arthroscopic knee surgery who also just had a very down year doesn’t exactly translate to being worth $5.5 million this year.
