The Iggles had to redo Vick’s extension before they could give DeSean a proper new contract. He’ll get his. If not, Vick will have one less top receiver to throw to next year.

All F/O’s offices show a front of confidence, no matter how they really feel about a given situation. This is true of front offices that have won multiple Super Bowls as well as those who have won zero Super Bowls. And when I say “those who have won zero Super Bowls”, I’m mainly talking about the “gold standard” Eagles front office.

All this really told me is that Eli continues to prove that he is a punk hiding behind his name, Jahvid Best is ALREADY going the way of Brian Westbrook, and the Bills have fallen off the map so much they don’t even make the one-liners any more…

“That’s just bound to happen,” Romo said. “We need these young guys to step up and play. They’ve been working hard.

“It’s happened before. At one point Miles Austin , we needed him to step in and play good. We needed Doug Free to step in. It’s time for some of those guys to step up and play or the guys [front office] wouldn’t have done that if they didn’t feel confident.”

Eagles fans would understand this in context if they could have the confidence in their young guys to step in and play well. But you don’t, and for good reason. Andy can’t draft and Andy can’t develop.

The thing is, the Cowboys young guys ARE stepping up and playing. Three rookie offensive linemen started against the Vikes in the “dress rehearsal” third preseason game and they played well. There will be mistakes made as their usually is with young players but so far so good.

On the other hand…

Eagles young guys… not playing so well. They’ve got Vick running for his life, making bad throw after bad throw. His frustration is obvious, and his frustration will just make it worse when the bullets start flying for real. They should have poached some more offensive linemen.

The real games may not have started, but Tony Romo is in mid-season form with his excuse making. So it’s going to be another one of those years in Dallas. At least this year he can blame everything on his young O-line instead of Jerry’s overpaid and/or aging veterans.
