After a three-year absence from the postseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are feeling confident that they’ll be in the playoffs this year.

For Bucs wide receiver Mike Williams, it extends beyond confidence to a promise: He says they’re making the playoffs, period.

We’re a young team, but we’re guaranteeing the playoffs,” Williams said, via Jeff Darlington of McClatchy Newspapers.

The youth Williams references is one of the biggest reasons to be optimistic about Tampa Bay’s chances: The Bucs were 10-6 last year on a roster whose top players are mostly young and still getting better.

The problem with youth is that sometimes young players don’t understand that it’s generally best to actually get to the playoffs first and hold off on the guarantees.
