APFor starting players, the fourth preseason week is one to play quickly and hope to avoid injury.
Two key Chiefs players did not survive Thursday night’s game 100%, although it’s unclear if either injury is serious. Quarterback Matt Cassel and tight end Tony Moeaki both left with injuries, according to Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star.
Cassel appeared to hurt his shoulder after getting tackled. The Chiefs did not disclose the injury. He was seen on the sideline with his helmet on after the hit ready to go back in, so it doesn’t appear the injury was too worrisome.
Moeaki, who has struggled to stay healthy all camp, left with a knee injury.
The Chiefs lost the game 20-19 to the Packers.

Ridiculous. Packers 2nd and 3rd teams had 5 takeaways against the KC starters. Todd Haley: you suck.
They played their starters in a meaningless preseason game. I guess that is what they deserve.
Chiefs lost the game.

Heh, ooops. N/M, I misread the comment. My apologies Double G.
Umm kc played starters WHOLE game…packers third stringers beat them..
Um…. the Chiefs lost.
I don’t think it’s possible to NOT hurt something with Howard Green falling on you.
This coming from a Raiders Fan.
Ha!Ha! ———–>
What was Haley thinking? Preseason means nothing, but I’m glad the Packers’ backups put a smackdown on that guy’s plans. And I’ve got a good feeling about that undrafted rookie free agent LB Vic D’ S’oto. (?) (< yeah, there's no way I spelled that right, but look out for this guy!)
Cassel shouldn’t of been playing.
Maybe Haley figured after his brutal performances Cassel should play but, it wasn’t worth the obvious injury risk…….and now look.
relax (boys)
haley, pioli, ravioli, stromboli….mmmmmmmmm.
Its the Chiefs…..WHO CARES!
If Cassell doesn’t play count the Chiefs out this year. They don’t have a quality backup.
The minor shoulder injury is a big deal because he will re-aggrivate the shoulder in 10 days time when shawne merriman, kyle williams and marcell dareus slam him to the turf, over and over and over and over….
cassel came out so the 4 turnovers in the second half came from the 3rd string qb
As a Chiefs fan I’ll tell you why they played their starters. They have looked like garbage all preseason and they needed to see something to look forward to. Todd Haley is a gomer and Cassel is a 2nd rate QB who refuses to be a leader. I’d almost rather have captain america Mr. Stanzi start, but not quite. I hope to see Cassel manage some games and let Charles make plays and continue to throw it up to D-Bowe. I love how the defense is coming together but if Haley wants to call the shots on offense with Cassel at the helm, I dont see more than 7 wins this year with the tough schedule we’ve got.
Maybe Todd will let Cassel borrow his Carter 4 CD.
So much for that dress rehearsal week one against the Bucs to avoid injury. lol
And they said Raheem was in over his head. Haley can’t get through a postgame hand shake without a box of kleenex…
@scudbot – Try paying attention… J. Charles fumbled twice, but since when is Tyler Palko a starter???
The Bills have a few plans for Matt as well, he better call Dareus now & make friends early.
“Tyler Palko a starter???” Apparently he is now, since Haley left him in with the rest of the first team and Cassell’s hurt. Game summary: Bowe’s a beast, Haley’s a lunatic and the Chief’s locker room must be crazy town.

Charles lost two fumbles in the second half.
lol, the chiefs did onside kicks and fake punts on our 3rd string…
c’mon man.
Vic So’oto just won himself a spot thou, man he was a beast.
Sack/Interception/ForceFumbles.
Think we found our guy to compliment Clay Matthews.
I don’t think So’oto is ready to start, yet. After the game, he pointed out a couple rookie mistakes he made. He will probably get some playing time though and I imagine he will be a starter at some point.
