Tedy Bruschi says he’d target Arian Foster’s hamstring

Texans running back Arian Foster used Twitter to post an image from the MRI of his hamstring on Wednesday and pointed out an inflamed area that he said is the injury currently slowing him down. That may not have been the smartest move.

One reason it wasn’t so smart, according to former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi, is that defensive players will now be thinking about taking shots at that inflamed area (which Foster referred to as “anti-awesomeness”) when they play against the Texans. Bruschi said on ESPN Radio that if he were preparing to play against Foster, he’d be taking mental notes about where, exactly, Foster’s injury is, and he’d be thinking about that if he found himself in a pileup with Foster.

“As a defensive player, if this is his hamstring, noting that the sore spot -- the white spot that he calls anti-awesomeness -- is in the middle of the hamstring, as I’m getting off of a pile, maybe I push,” Bruschi said. “Maybe that’s where I push. Because I know that’s exactly where it is. I give it a little dig, I give it a little twist as I get off the pile. Maybe I do that.”

With the Texans taking on the Colts in Week 1, there may be some players in Indianapolis having the same thoughts.
