I firmly believe that any team that moves here must completely reinvent itself, leaving behind the name, the logos, the records — anything associated with its former identity — if it’s going to have any chance of being widely embraced. The relocated franchise is going to need to functionally present itself as an “expansion” team.

And that includes teams that presently play in California.
