I'll be there at Ray Jay, but I would love for the game to be on TV. I get a kick out of everyone freaking out about games being blacked out. I grew up in Tampa and Detroit and I never remember either of those teams having televised home games until the Bucs started turning around in the late 90s. The world didn't end and the Bucs didn't move then, and I'm quite confident neither will happen now.

I had lived in Tampa for the last 25 years and have seen the ups and downs of the area/economy. Prices have more than tripled for utilities/mortgage/rent/ FOOD, gasoline/ Medical.
Companies have come and gone/bankrupt, etc.

Many people worked for good companies and made a decent living during this time, but times have changed. The Good paying jobs are no longer in the area. ( This is why I moved back to Pittsburgh)

There are no more jobs that have normal pensions, (except a 401K that loses more money than they make)

Athletes salaries have jumped 3000% in the last 25 years but the normal person trying to survive and keep food on their table to feed their kids are making the same salaries as they did in the 1980's.

How can anyone ask people to pay an outrageous price for tickets/ parking/concessions when they are struggling to make ends meet at home?

You can't blame the people, because there are MANY people who would LOVE to be sitting in that stadium!!!
You have to blame Corporate America and the rising prices to feed the millionaire athletes and billionaire owners because these people don't know when enough money is enough!!!
They have priced the every day fan out of the stadiums!!!!!

I don't know about some of you people but I would rather feed my child than I would a millionaire athlete any day! And anyone who disagrees with me never had to struggle for anything in their lives... most of us wasn't born with a gold spoon in our mouths!!!

The concept of the Blackout is so out of date with the venues of watching the game. I can watch any game I want on the internet. Besides, I would think they could change to some sort of local commercialization to aid in lost ticket sales. If the locals can't watch you lose possible viewers. Need to keep the product in front of the fans some how.

You pay only $7.50 for a beer? At Dodgers games a 3% domestic light beer is over $11. Eff you, Frank McCourt!

$11 for a cup of pisswater beer????? If I were a salesman, I would grab the names & #s of every single one of those obviously filthy rich people as they walked away from the concession stand with beers in hand knowing I'm not going to get any easier marks to swindle than they.

If I were an owner I would probably try to do some creative marketing where I offered a "family pack" of say 4 tickets which included a hot dog or hamburger, fries and a drink for 4 people for a reasonable deal or something. Usually the worse the economy is the more people need some entertainment to help distract them a bit. Help make it possible, owners of the NFL. Yes ticket prices alone aren't the sole reason people don't go to the stadiums, I get that. I also get that they make their money mostly on TV rights. But they need to keep interest high in attending their games or that could force a ripple effect they DON'T want.

Second - Just stop this "The Bucs are moving" nonsense because you're just showing your ignorance. The Glazers have one of the best, most lucrative leases in the National Football League. No city, not even LA would have bent over and taken it from the team like the city of Tampa did for Raymond James Stadium. Not only to the Glazers make a mint off the Bucs - they also make a mint of ANY event in the Stadium. USF games, the Outback Bowl...tractor pulls, whatever is there is money in the bank.

Third - before the economy dropped in the crapper, the Buccaneers had 10 consecutive years of sell outs and a 10,000 seat waiting list for tickets. Perhaps the nation high unemployment level (which by the way is still high) had something to do with it....and don't give me the "Oh they're unemployed in Detroit, too" bs because they have a population of 5 million - I think they can find 70,000 or so saps to go see the Lions disappoint. Tampa only has a population of 335,000 (2 mill if include the surrounding counties)- most of which who are under or unemployed.

Damn shame, the bucs are a good young team. As a Lions fan I was hoping the " seems like" annual Detroit-Tampa game would become a game similar to patriots-colts in the near future. If the Lions won 10 games this year, they would definitely sell-out every game next year. They will sell out most of the games this year after 6 wins. Our economy up here is bad too, but our tickets are more affordable. Tampa deserves better. I love the Tampa area and hope it rebounds, but they have to charge less for tickets so that hard working fans can get tix.

You pay only $7.50 for a beer? At Dodgers games a 3% domestic light beer is over $11. Eff you, Frank McCourt!

To make this football related, as an LA resident I would love to have a NFL team, but not at the expense of another city. I lived in the Bay Area when Skeletor tore the team out of Oakland to LA. The rage there was incredible. When he moved the team BACK to Oakland the fans in LA were pissed. Now the Oakland and Alameda County residents who had their taxes raised to pay for a billionaire's stadium wish he would go away permanently.

Fans in places like Tampa Bay just suck. I'm not saying all fans do; there are quite a few die hards. The problem is that those are the only people buying tickets. The Rays have poor fan attendance and they actually were legitimate title contenders not long ago. The Bucs won't garner much more interest, either. Tampa is just not a great market for a sports team... regardless of how surprisingly talented the Bucs are as a team

For all you people bashing us Tampa fans hear my story. I am a 24 year old male and die hard Bucs fan. I have lived in Tampa my entire life & have always loved my bucs. Thats right even back in the worse jerseys in the league days (Horrible teams i might add).I make about $40k a year. Now listen here, after paying rent, car insurance (FL CAR INS!!!), gas, electric bill, food etc. you know the basics, I cant afford to take myself to a game. Now yeah i could buy $40 dollar tickets & sit right next to the sun, drinking my warm beer that cost me half the price of a 12 pack. OR I could enjoy the game in the comfort of my home via streaming website along with cheap beer & food. Money is just to tight to drop 150 bucks for a game. Were broke here right now. If I was makin 40k back in lets say.... 98' I'd have season tix right now!!!

Let me get this straight.... The Buccaneers have a total of 7 games this year at home.... and they can't sell out even one?

The have the Lions, Falcons, Colts, Saints Texans, Panthers, and Cowboys coming to Tampa.

I live in Nashville, and have already purchased my 4 front row tickets to the Bucs Game. I also bought tickets to go to the Bucs home game against the Colts. I am not rich, but, I budget every year to go to at least one game, and I travel over 12 hours to get there.

As for the fans that complain about the heat... are you kidding me? Try being one of those players with no fan support running up and down the field with full gear and a helmet on? I love my Buccaneers, however, it's no wonder that there's talk about them moving. Every place has a bad economy. I don't want to hear anything about it. Try going to Detroit.... you don't hear of them on the black out list.

New Orleans sold out their games, even after their homes got washed away, and they were left with nothing. Sorry Bucs Fans, not on your side on this one.

It’s pretty simple why the Bucs, Jags, etc., are facing blackouts. Add up what it costs to go to a pro NFL game vs. staying home, and it’s no wonder that teams are struggling to sell tickets:

Ticket – $100
Parking – $10
Tank of gas – $60
Food for tailgate party – $20
Stadium hot dog – $4
Stadium beer – $7.50
Total cost – $201.50
______________________________
Here in New England, parking is $40. and a bottle of water in the stadium is $7.50.

It seems to me that fans are upset that the cap space wasn't spent on bringing in every free agent with a recognizable name, regardless as to whether those names were a) actually going to prove useful to the team and b) actually worth the money to be spent on them.

And what irks me is that the same fans who are screaming about why we don't spend money would have been the first to scream if we'd spent the money and been in cap hell and unable to resign any of our young players in a few years.

When you can watch the game in the comfort of your home on your HDTV, eat/drink the free food/beer in your fridge, why would you pay that kind of money to watch a game live? Are team owners really that dense about the economic situation around them?

You want more people in your stadium? Lower prices to where it's affordable for more people to come enjoy a live game.

mikejd12-Ticketmaster owns a lot of those secondary sites for tickets. Stub Hub is owned by Ticketmaster, and must see games seem to go directly to the secondary ticket market (Stub Hub). Also, I thought the Bucs sold out their game versus the Steelers last year?
