The Broncos lost a pair of important young reserve players on Thursday night, and one of them will miss the season.

Cornerback Syd’Quan Thompson, who played 13 games last year as a rookie, tore his Achilles according to the Denver Post. Third-round pick linebacker Nate Irving also left with a chest injury. It took Irving a while to get up and off the field.

As a side note, the Post reports the Broncos will not make any early cuts. Expect roster cuts to filter in slowly elsewhere Friday before Saturday’s deluge, but Denver plans to wait until Saturday to make all their moves.
