leeroyselmon

Lee Roy Selmon’s brother Dewey Selmon told 10 News in Tampa on Friday evening that Lee Roy is alive, in serious condition and “showing signs of progress” after suffering a stroke on Friday at his home in Tampa.

Dewey Selmon’s comments came after multiple media outlets reported that Lee Roy had died, and after Lee Roy Selmon’s restaurant released a statement mourning his passing.

Lee Roy Selmon was rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke today.

Dewey Selmon said the family will not be making any more statements tonight.

Mr. Burns was admitted to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was then transferred to a better hospital where his condition was upgraded to ‘alive.’

Lee Roy is as tough on death as he was on opponents.

Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery Lee Roy!

Leroy, this is wishing you a speedy recovery! You have been a great friend over the years. I can truly say I have come across two great men that I respect as role models, you are one and Tony Dungy is the other. My prayers are with you and your family! G.S.

God speed to a quick recovery Lee Roy. You and your brothers Dewey and Lucius formed the best line in OU history, and did the impossible – made Switzer appear smart in your championship seasons in ’74 and ’75.

You take stuff too seriously, chill.
People are probably giving this posts thumbs down just to make YOU mad. If you sit here and worry about whether people on these forums/blogs have a conscience then you’re wasting your time. Because your complaining is only going to make people want to do it more. It’s easy to hide behind a keyboard. I just look past it. It’s as easy as scrolling down the screen.

Mr. Lee Roy Selmon is class personified and a better man than most will ever come to be. May God bless and keep both he and his family comforted in this great time of need. I pray for a complete & total restoration of health!

  28. wiscnsnpatfan says: Sep 3, 2011 4:36 AM

Amen tlaw21. And hobartbaker–you know about that “filter” between your brain and your mouth (or fingers in this case ) that most people have? Maybe work on developing one of those.

  29. voiceofrealism says: Sep 3, 2011 5:43 AM

should they not also confirm that he is still alive?
A bunch of reports say he is dead. Then a guy calls up saying he is Dewey and that his brother is still alive. Everyone again just believes him?

  30. smokehouse56 says: Sep 3, 2011 7:02 AM

This just shows you how useless the thumbs up and thumbs down really are. Get rid of them.

  31. Tim says: Sep 3, 2011 12:37 PM

I can’t believe nobody mentioned this yet, and maybe it’s a sign that I’ve hung out of this website for FAR too many hours of my life… But doesn’t MDS know of the ‘Terry Bradshaw’ rule?? By the way, he’s still alive right?

  32. dirtdawg55 says: Sep 3, 2011 12:40 PM

Guess he was just “Terry Bradshaw” dead and not real dead.

Associated Press is reporting he is in extremely serious condition. It is suspected he had a stroke.

Was not a Bucs fan, but I certainly remember him being drafted and then living up to the billing (the first ever draft pick of any new team seems to always have just a little extra pressure). A great player.
