Bills waive Shawn Nelson

The Bills could be a surprise team in 2011.  Coming as no surprise is the decision to waive tight end Shawn Nelson.

A fourth-round pick in 2009, Nelson started 12 games as a rookie but only one in 2010.  He was limited to five appearances, due to injury.

Per Joe Buscaglia of WGR radio, Nelson showed up for training camp “way heavier” than in past years, and as of last Saturday he hadn’t practiced at all, due to an undisclosed injury.
