He’s excellent in the regular season, but he’s choked up in the playoffs two years in a row. Luckily for Giants fans, they won’t have to worry about that.

So it’s really not six in a row because you “won” that one? There’s only one clown here. The punt was fumbled, which puts more of the blame on the coverage team. Not to mention the fact that the punt return was only the last nail in the coffin. Dodge wasn’t playing offense or defense in that fourth quarter to the best of my recollection. Everyone wearing blue that day has to own this one.

As a Packer fan, I hated to see him go. Still, I’m not convinced that “The Return” was all his fault. It takes ten other guys to knock someone on his can.

Yes, the tackling was poor, but the inability to even punt the way he was supposed to made it even worse. Had the punt been directional, as instructed and/or at least HUNG, Jackson would have fair-caught it.

Gotta feel a little sorry for the kid, but Giants fans shouldn’t have to chew their fingernails while they watch this guy punt.

Going from Feagles to Dodge makes you realize you don’t what you’ve got til it’s gone.

After midseason, I was done with him. The fact that he indirectly cost us 3 games after that was on Tom and his reluctance to cut him. I was calling for Dodge’s head by Week 5 last year.

The timing is dubious, even with cuts coming up (we had two extra days) but Weatherford has been great thus far.

It was obvious last season that he was scared to death out there. Every now and then, he’d show why the Giants drafted him by nailing a really good punt, but the Eagles game, at least for me, was the nail in the coffin. If you can’t do the job, you won’t have a job.

He looked better this pre-season, but he looked good last pre-season too. It’s not enough when the games count.

It was an uphill, almost imposssible battle for Dodge this pre-season. Any decent competition and Coughlin had no choice but to let him go.

It shouldn’t take THAT long for a punter to acclimate to the NFL. Either you can directional kick, or you can’t. He couldn’t.

This was the best news I heard all day. Good riddens to him. Horrible directional kicker and Weatherford can kick just as deep but actually direct the punt out of bounds.
