APEagles cornerback Joselio Hanson will be released on Saturday, as first reported by Adam Caplan.
While most guys that get cut this weekend are cut for a reason and generally overrated by the public, Hanson has a skill set that would help a lot of teams out there. He was an above average nickel back at worst last year.
Look for Carolina to show interest. St. Louis would also make sense.

What NFL veteran who actually played games ISN’T a popular free agent?? PFT must be gettin paid to promote this guy…
What about the Broncos? Only kept 4 cbs.
He’s garbage. I’ll (Giants) pass.
Leonard Davis can’t buy a workout, for one.
I would think the New York Football Giants would be all over Hanson, for more reasons than one.
Hanson allowed 4.4 yards per attempt last season, second among corners with 40+ targets, and 1.5 yards after the catch-first among CB’s.(credit Football Outsiders).
Garbage indeed.
Good luck to anyone who gets him. Trust me, you’ll need it.
Giants make a ton of sense. Dump Brian Williams and bring Hanson in!
Good slot corner. Wouldn’t use him on the outside, if I could avoid it.
for someone to call Hanson garbage with the corners that the Giants are forced to use is laughable.
Cleveland already added Sheldon Brown and Dimitri Patterson, so my money’s on the Tom Heckert and the Browns to add yet another Eagles corner.
What’s laughable is that you think we only have one corner. GOODNESS. Thomas going down was huge, but you act as if we have nothing else. Amukamara will be back at the end of this month. Williams and Coe are just bodies and Ross has had an excellent preseason.
Again, Hanson is garbage.
If Jerry were all that worried, he would have signed Hayden, who is much better.
Giants will sign him to play nickel corner. And when they play the Eagles he can cover the slot and get burnt by Steve Smith. How great would that be?

If he’s really garbage he’d be right at home in that sieve the Giants call a secondary.
The Giants have publicly said they would sign veteran cornerbacks for the veteran minimum or close to it. The problem with Kelvin Hayden was that he wanted much more than the veteran minimum, so no, Jerry Reese would have never signed him.
If don’t think Hanson could actually help Big Blue, then I’d say you need to take off your fanboy glasses.
Mr. Wright 212 you don’t know anything about football. You are garbage.
Consensus in STL is that Rams would trade for him but that Eagles would wait until after they play each other in week 1.
And his release just cost a whole lot of people in Philadelphia some money. I told all my idiot friends not to go out and by a DRC or Asomugha jerseys bc their numbers werent official yet and they said themselves that they most likely were going to be changed. Well now the number 21 jersey is available in Philly and Nnamdi is most likely going to claim it. And DRC has said he was changing his number and Ronnie Brown said he was going to take #23.
I wouldn’t touch him.
houseofho…. Hanson isnt going to sign for the veteran minimum. He is going to want pretty close to the 2 million he was supposed to be paid this year and he will get it. If the Giants want Josilio they are going to have to step up.
The Eagles would have kept him if he was willing to play for the veteran minimum.
Says the doughboy who hasn’t even played beyond Pop Warner, if that.
As a former CB, I can say he’s garbage.
Joselio hasn’t been the same player since he was suspended for 4 games for HGH in 09 I believe. Below-average corner.

Considering Steve won’t be playing the slot, I’d say the chances are slightly higher on Madden ’12 than on the field.
Or does Avant not suit up for Philly anymore? Everyone knows Steve won’t be worth a damn until midseason, when we will have already played PHI twice.

I know the Giants won’t be signing Hanson for the minimum or signing him at all. I was actually responding to Mr. Wright 212′s statements about the Jerry Reese not worrying and his assertion Hanson wouldn’t be able to help the Giants.
The guy is way to undersized when not doing steroids.
big name?
