While I understand what you mean (and agree, I like where the Lions are going), may I point out that literally, this statement isn’t really going out on a limb?

We could turn this into a Mad Lib: “Talent evaluation is much improved now under _____’s watch”, where ____ could be filled in by any living entity not named Millen.

They didn’t question his ability, they did not want his character issues. Even when the Titans had him briefly he jacked someone in the face, so you can’t even make the argument that he learned his lesson in college. The Lions had an up close look at him when they coached the Senior Bowl and they did not like what they saw. I highly doubt they regret the decision.
