Getty ImagesBaltimore became the third team to get down to their 53-man roster on Saturday, with a huge group of cuts that including linebacker Tavares Gooden.
Gooden started 10 games in 2009, but slowly fell out of favor. Here’s the full list of cuts:
Center Tim Barnes, running back Damien Berry, guard Justin Boren, linebacker Prescott Burgess, linebacker Josh Bynes, quarterback Hunter Cantwell, defensive back Danny Gorrer, defensive tackle Lamar Divens, tight end Davon Drew, wide receiver James Hardy, defensive tackle Bryan Hall, cornerback Talmadge Jackson, fullback Ryan Mahaffey, tight end Johdrick Morris, wide receiver Brandon Jones, center Jason Murphy, running back Jalen Parmele, guard Andre Ramsey, long snapper Patrick Scales, defensive tackle Marcus Simmons, wideout Marcus Smith, linebacker Chavis Williams, safety Nate Williams, and cornerback Josh Victorian.
Burgess was a solid special teamer last year. Hardy was a second round pick with the Bills; Marcus Smith was a fourth-rounder by the Ravens in 2008.
Baltimore also placed second-year tackle Ramon Harewood on injured reserve. He hasn’t taken a snap in the regular season in two years because of injuries.

A bunch of nobodies LOLOL
No matter what they do it’s just a 8 and 8 team.
I doubt they cut Arthur Jones.
I thought PFT was only releasing/leading with names that would raise eyebrows. Um, Tavares Gooden? Then again everyone else was even more no-namey. (Ravens fan, btw.)
Who’d Ray-Ray cut?
No way they cut Arthur Jones. He was beginning to start over Cory Redding. I think you guys mean Brandon Jones, the WR.
Ahh.. looks like you guys already fixed the Jones mixup. Only surprises for me are that they kept Albert McClellan and Michael McAdoo. I’m betting they’ll end up on the practice squad sooner or later.
Also surprising that they only have 3 backup OL, although two of them are versatile.
Oh, sorry, I see you fixed the Harewood thing to say “regular season.” But last year was his rookie campaign, so you have to say he has taken a snap in one regular season, since he was IR’d last year and no one has taken a regular season snap this year.
EAGLES! Grab this guy!
Never heard of him.
Wow, what an untalented group…the cuts must have been easy.
I was sooo happy… till I realized it was’nt Tavaris Jackson that got cut…
They sound like nobodies to all of you who don’t follow the team, just like all your cuts are nobodies to me. Bear in mind also that the Ravens let their bigger name players go before preseason started to let them go find jobs…Todd Heap, Derrick Mason, Chris Chester, and Kelly Gregg.
chris chester was a free agent we didnt cut him it was kelly gregg
I said “let go” I didn’t say “cut” They let Mason, Wilson and Chester go into free agency. They cut Gregg and Heap.
No one has noted that the Ravens only kept 2 QBs. Either they plan to go with Taylor as the back-up or one more bubble player will drop if they sign someone.
gooden was a pretty high pick wasnt he? bust??
staffordsrear,
you think the Ravens aren’t loaded with talent at linebacker? Pretty tough to make the team at that position.
Geez,nevermind..only a third rounder,um no i never said the ravens werent loaded at linebacker at all actually? but somebodys gotta replace r.lewis in the next year or two, maybe newsome should draft better?…since you wanna be a jackass about it.
Sucks to see him go. Gooden will be one of the first pick ups after roster cuts. He played very well. Which is allot considering he stood out within an elite group of linebackers with Baltimore. Not only stand out but start 10 games. I Guarantee he will be snagged quickly.
