With less than an hour to deadline, only six teams are at 53

A lot has happened today in the NFL, the annual date on which rosters must get to 53 for the full season.

But a lot more will happen.  Soon.

Only six teams have made it to 53.  That leaves (abacus engaged) 26 teams.

The deadline is 6:00 p.m. ET.  We’ll be here until they’re all posted.

    I don’t remember having to wait this long to see my team cut down. I wouldn’t want to have the job of cutting these guys. Must really suck.

    I wonder if this is the case every year or if this year is particularly hard (as many have feared) for teams to make these decisions with the shortened pre-season…

    If so, this is also the fear many have about shortening the number of pre-season games, as there will be less time to determine who the top 53 are…

    Texans are down to 52 as of a few minutes ago. They cut Maynard and will need a punter.

    Once again, the Eagles have proved that training camp is not really a competition, you can’t outplay Andy and Howie’s draft picks regardless of what you do.

    The Bengals get to 53, if Carson Palmer shows up next week to claim the 11 Mil plus salary, the Bengals either cut someone else to free a spot or cut Palmer, correct?

    And until teams see who’s been cut, they won’t know if they want to pick up someone from another team. Scramble!

    Judging by the picture you chose, I’m guessing Dean Jones, Buddy Hackett and Michelle Lee will be among the final cuts.

    i’m really suprised that they didn’t add a few roster spots in there negotiation’s. it would be nice to have 58 or 59 guy’s on the roster, not including practice squad.

    Just heard ian johnson from boise state got cut by the lions,didnt look that bad from what i saw(yeah i know preseason) but the kid just wont catch on with a team.. Not Forever League for sure.
