APBrandon Tate never quite learned how to be a receiver in New England, but he was a solid return guy.
Those skills can now be used in Cincinnati. Mike Florio reports via a league source that the Bengals have claimed him.
We haven’t heard the corresponding move as of yet, but expect to see a lot of waiver wire transactions in the coming hours.

Nothing says Bengals like a roster spot for a “solid return guy” with little to no other use.
Tate will get alot of work in Cincinnati since the Bengals will be returning alot of kickoffs this season

Tate is a 76 is madden so that makes him… the 2nd best receiver on the team… and the 7th best player on the Bengals.
And he was CUT by the Pats…
Getting cut is bad. Getting claimed by the Bengals is worse.

Tate’s worth taking a chance on for a team in need of a returner – and he might even some day be a decent backup WR.
The Pats have both of those needs well covered without him.
Have fun with a bad route runner, below-average hands, and a guy who can’t block downfield. Other than that, he’s a great WR!

Like I said, every successive each post from you gets progressively dumber.
So a guy who can’t run routes gets picked up by a team where the QB can’t hit you if you do run routes. Might work!
