Before you get too critical, go back and look at the first rounders from 2009, 2008, etc. You would be shocked to find names you have never heard of or forgot about.

E. Brown is a class act. A tremendous human being (my kids chatted with him on occasion) who needs a system where his skill set is utilized.

As a Panther fan, I am tired of Hurney drafting players who do not fit the 4-3 (Brown, Norwood, even Connor) the Panthers run. I am also tired of him trading to move up to draft players who are falling past teams that need their position. Brown slipped into the second round, past 3-5 teams than needed 4-3 DEs, but their GMs know talent for their systems. He even tried to give away a first rounder last year to move up for Clausen.

Then he trades up for Edwards and drafts Lafell, a WR with small hands and slow footspeed.

That is why the Panthers are where they are.

Myself along with many 49ers fans wanted this guy with the pick that McDrunkie traded to the Panthers. Instead we used the Panter’s pick the following year to pick up our starting LG for the next 10 years.

Now, how about throwing a little sand in the Vaseline and have the 49ers pick this guy up and end up getting something out of him.

Jerry Richardson HUGE mistake not totally cleaning house after last season & getting rid of Hurney-
I’m sure other GM’s jump with JOY when he calls them – cause he routinely gets fleeced in trades of draft picks etc…

Way too early to call Armanti a bust. He’s made amazing strides since even last year.

Going from QB to WR isn’t exactly a walk in the park. In fact, it rarely works out well, but he’s on the right track.

He is just not strong enough to play 4-3 defensive end. He would fit better in a 3-4, and he might be successful with the right team. He has great speed.

Yes, that was an awful pick by Hurney, but I’m glad Rivera had the stones to cut the team’s losses with Brown. It’s hard to cut a guy with that amount of investment.

When the 49ers were OTC I was hoping Brown would be the pick. But then that trade happened and we got Iupati so I guess I am glad to say I was wrong.

I like it. I was excited about everette brown when they drafted him…but he’s just too small to play DE. it’s a rarity to see a small DE have success. Ron Meeks must’ve thought he could turn him into Robert Mathis/Dwight Freeny…not a chance.
