There are tons of implanted fans here that have been here for generations yet still refuse to call the home team “their” team until one of them makes it to the playoffs.

Quite a few people have to use food stamps and are running out of unemployment insurance payments. Let’s see, should we be good fans and give our money to the rich guys or buy the kids school clothes? Dentist bill or Buc’s; which is it? Maybe the rich guy could give those tickets away to the poor people who used to have a job and come to the games!

No you missed my point. This story lacked for a snide remark and one should be added, because it is well deserved.

Personally I’d rather pay 10 bucks a game to sit around at home then waiting for enough yuppies to buy up PSL’s so they can buy tickets or people with strong enough nerves to drive through a snowstorm to sit in the middle of a windtunnel on top of an iceblock so the game doesnt get blacked out.

For the people that really can’t afford tickets to support the team, not an issue. That is understandable. But you all are completely deceiving yourselves if you think that’s the reason it’s not sold out. If the game was in Detroit, it would be and the economy in Detroit is much worse.

If the Bucs can’t sell out a game like this, a revenge game against another up and coming team, a year after going 10-6, and on the Sept 11th 10 year anniversary none the less, they don’t deserve their team.

You are right. They should add the snide remark as J’Ville didn’t really avoid a blackout with actual paying customers.

My only problem is the renaming of the NFL Shoppe.

I marked em down, and I’ll use it for laughing material every morning when I wake up. PPV NFL games would destroy their billions of dollars in sponsorships.

Michigan has a very high unemployment rate as well. The Lions only had 2 blackouts last year I believe. Pretty sure they will have none this year.

And save the BS about the other things to do in Tampa because many TB fans are fair weather/bandwagon fans as the ticket sales show. There are only 8 home games a year not including preseason and “playoffs”

Not a fairweather fan at all. Many of us absolutely love the Bucs. Fact is, the economy sucks right now with unemployment here way above the national average. Many people, including myself can’t afford to go anymore. The other factor is that companies used to give tickets away to people as part of doing business (I went to many games that way) and now they are not doing it.
