The Gronkowskis can’t keep a secret

Kansas State football player Glenn Gronkowski appears to have broken the news that his brother Dan, last with the Broncos, is set to join his brother Rob as a member of the New England Patriots.

Then Glenn realized he probably shouldn’t be breaking that news.

(Confused yet?)

Here was Glenn’s tweet: “@DGronko [Dan Gronkowski] is officially a New England Patriot! Gronk bros tearing up NE! #unstoppable #superbowl SOO HYPED!!!”

Minutes later, our Boston sports media friends noticed that Glenn deleted his tweet.

Thankfully, Colts player Chris Gronkowski followed up soon therafter:

“Congrats to my bro @DGronko! There will now be two gronks in new England!” he wrote.

So there you have it.  Unless Bill Belichick cancels the move out of spite because it leaked early, there will now be two Gronks in New England. That should be great for the traffic on

We’ll finally learn the answer to the age old question: Is there such a thing as too much Gronk?

UPDATE: Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe has confirmed Dan Gronkowski will join the Patriots.

Dan Gronkowski is not a very good football player. The Pats have the best Gronkowski on their team already. Now they have the worst one too.

No, literally. Someone’s gonna get Gronk’d when Belichick finds out.

I thought there were 3 of them and now this has left us with a 4th. Rob, Glenn, Dan, and Chris…

    I’m utterly confused.

@doctorfootball: maybe the Denver coaching staff is what was not very good.
If this is true, we’ll soon see what Belichick can do with the kid.

Actually a lot of us Pats fans were a little upset because they waived both their rookie TEs, Smith and Yeatman and Yeatman looked pretty good. BB was maybe hoping they cleared waivers so he could practice squad them. They were down to just Rob G. and Hernandez.

Notice that Rob didn’t tweet a thing about it..he knows better 😀
There are 5 Gronk brothers BTW. I think it’s Chris, Dan, Rob, Gordon and Glenn.

  38. hlh8728 says: Sep 6, 2011 2:48 PM

  39. broncotis3000 says: Sep 6, 2011 2:56 PM

The Broncos had much better options TE than DG..for you uninformed posters out there…he’s average at best. But good luck to him…It must be a slow news day..

    * A Gronkowski promptly misses a block which results in the guy he was suppose to protect getting injured.

  43. achap39 says: Sep 6, 2011 3:34 PM

Should make for a decent lead blocker in front of Vereen, Ridley, BGJE, and Woodhead. Since Morris got cut, there was no FB on the roster.

  44. granadafan says: Sep 6, 2011 4:34 PM

All three of them look major gay. Fitting that two of them are Patriot players now.
