Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib is healthy again at just the right time.
Bucs G.M. Mark Dominik said on PFT Live that Talib participated “100 percent” in practice on Wednesday, and Talib is fully expected to start the season opener after missing the entire preseason. Talib hasn’t played since early December 2010.
Talib versus Calvin Johnson is one of the best matchups of the weekend.
“He’s one of the top guys in the league,” Talib told the St. Petersburg Times. “Slash, digs, jump balls, boy can do it all.”
Coach Raheem Morris said he isn’t worried about Talib not playing in August.
“He’s a game-day guy, a show-up-and-play type of guy. He’ll be ready to go,” Morris said.
Seeing Talib “ready to go” as a member of the Bucs is something that a lot of people didn’t expect after a tumultuous offseason.
