At 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, the 90-minute NFL Kickoff 2011 Presented by EA Sports, which originally was scheduled to air on NBC, will be televised on VERSUS.
One hour before that, NBC SportsTalk will debut on VERSUS.
The show is hosted by Russ Thaler and invaded periodically by yours truly. I’ll be in studio with Russ Thursday night for the first show. We’ll be joined via satellite from Lambeau Field by Peter King of Sports Illustrated, who’ll be in studio for Friday night’s second show. (If, you know, there actually is a second show.)
We’ll also be joined by Cris Collinsworth of Sunday Night Football, and by Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison of Football Night in America.
So join us at 6:00 p.m. ET on Thursday. And on Friday. And on Monday. And on every Monday and Friday. And on every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, three days of the week on which I won’t be heavily involved with the show, which necessarily will make it even better.

Another great reason not to watch Obama’s speech!
Wait – what day am I suppose to join?
I’ll tune in..
And what’s going on with not being able to thumb up comments?
good move by Versus. Even the NHL could see some residual benefit by having some NFL programming on the station
Sorry, Peter King is enough for me not to watch.
Thanks for the heads up. I will DVR it. (still at work in PST)
I was pretty excited to watch until I saw that Tony Dingy would be on.
Yet another DC area sportscaster stolen away to the bigtime. Russ Thayler was great for 10 years on CSN Washington, and now the rest of the country will get to enjoy him. Good to see good things happen to good people.
Good luck Russ, knock them dead.
Good luck to you.Go Bills
Have fun without me… Dish makes us pay extra for VS.
