The Colts lost their best player for the next couple of months.
The Texans may lose one of their best players for the opening week. Houston definitely wins on that trade.
Running back Arian Foster missed practice again on Thursday. Coach Gary Kubiak said Foster may be headed to a game-time decision, but the signs don’t look great. Why rush him back when he hasn’t practiced at all since hurting his hamstring?
“Everything’s still progressing,” said Kubiak, “but obviously we’re getting close to game time. We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow.”
Derrick Ward is expected to start if Foster is out, with Ben Tate getting plenty of work. We wouldn’t be surprised to see the Texans try to run the ball 40 times even if Foster is out.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggested Thursday Foster could play, but not in a full-time role.
