Pat White released by UFL’s Virginia Destroyers

We’ve recently argued that, if Tiki Barber really wants to continue his football career at a time when the NFL isn’t interested, he should join the UFL.  But another guy who followed that path has found out that the UFL is no gimme, either.

A transaction report dated September 6 but arriving in the PFT email box early Thursday shows that the Virginia Destroyers have cut former WVU and Dolphins quarterback Pat White.

As it turns out, word of White’s demise emerged over the weekend.  “They just released him,” White’s father, Bo, told the Charleston Daily Mail. “It really is a shame.”

The Destroyers had no comment on the decision to release White, who won four bowl games during his time with the Mountaineers, but whose one-year pro career by all appearances is over.

Ran a 4.48 40 at the Combine. Gotta love those wildcat QBs unless you like pro football.

Your career is only officially over when the Bengals say no thanks.

Unlike the Bengals, UFL teams have scouting departments.

is he still refusing to acknowledge that he’s not a pro qb and needs to change positions?

As I said, I would have put him on my fantasy roster just so he could make a team.

After seeing the PFT writers playoff picks, I’m amazed that Rotoworld is able to charge for their “professional” analysis. And I still guarantee that I would have won that league with White on my roster.

The main question is…what does Tim Tebow think about all this?

He was an MLB prospect, I wonder if he can knock the dust off of his bats.

Americankris and suckleague or whatever your names are, really better than Chad henne!!?!?!?!!! You’ve got to be kidding about your comments, maybe one day you’ll understand football and positions, until then just watch qb’s in college, most don’t even know how to read coverages, that would suit you two much better instead of pro football qb’s

    Who cares?

I can’t wait until next year, when we get the next
“PFT player of 2010” Pat White update. I can see it now:

“Pat White earns employee of the month selling hardwood floors!”

2nd Rd pick he should have banked a significant signing bonus, if he saved well and didnt go on a burn money fast spree he should be alright.

Guess he should have gotten his degree from WVU…not that it’s worth a damn thing!!!
