Giants running back Brandon Jacobs and Jets defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson hit each other on the field in their preseason meeting, and now the NFL is hitting both of them in the wallets.

Jacobs has been fined $20,000 and Wilkerson has been fined $10,000, Tom Rock of Newsday reports.

The heavier fine for Jacobs is apparently because he’s considered a repeat offender. Jacobs’ previous fines include $20,000 for a verbal altercation with Eagles fans and $10,000 for throwing his helmet in the stands.

So Jacobs would be wise to try keeping his temper in check. For his part, Wilkerson has already said that he doesn’t regret the altercation.
