Buried at the bottom of a wide-ranging interview with Ron Green Jr. of the Charlotte Observer is a quote from Panthers owner Jerry Richardson that deserves to be highlighted, if only for its potential comedic value.

Asked to describe the dynamics of working with men like Raiders owner Al Davis, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, and Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, Richardson said, “That would be like going to a zoo. You see all the specimens.”

Though the comments don’t rise to the scrutiny level of his “tattoos and piercings” admonition to Cam Newton, Richardon’s remarks likely will rankle some of his colleagues, even if he was laughing like a hyena when he said it.
