I could go on and on (and frequently do) but let me end with this – the players wear pink (are they forced to?) for breast cancer awareness or some darn thing. Why should there even be a question about wearing something red white and blue on the 10th anniversary of 9/11/01?

On this most terrible of anniversaries: enjoy your family and friends, root for your favorite team, compliment your opponents, hug your kids, remember the crisp blue skies of that day, and honor the folks that died by joining together in the same manner we all did in the aftermath of horror.

Lately we have gotten away from that bond, but perhaps we should attempt it again.

Go ahead and give me a thumbs down but I get tired of all the breast cancer awareness pink by week 2 of the month. No other pro sport would allow their teams to goof up their uniforms for a quarter of their season. It gets a little overwhelming.

You guys are right. Raising awareness for cancer is just over-the-top and stupid. Nothing is worse than looking at an NFL player wearing pink. I say to hell with all the victims of breast cancer. Who do they think they are trying to take over our game

I agree with you. This battle to appeal to women is getting stupid. I know plenty of die hard women fans out there who care less about the pink.

Wouldn’t it be cool to hear a sideline reporter sound like they know what they’re talking about? Not just some chick that looks good on camera asking people how they feel. Pam Oliver takes the exception on that. Uglier than mold on a pile of cottage cheese. All that annoying woman does is stir up, “drama.”

NFL – do something selfless for a change and honor this day right!!

Your comments about Tillman are right on. In fact, I think you may have stumbled on something.

Like how MLB honors Jackie Robinson day with all players wearing #42, the NFL should have all NFL players wear No. 40 to commemorate 9/11 (leaving the logistics of how to do that to the NFL committee who fines everyone. Give them something more productive to spend their time on that silly fines).

Its a day to celebrate American courage and there will never be a more courageous football player than Tillman.

Never mind that the league never said it, and the person talking about getting fined was Lance Friggin Briggs.

The NFL was going to bend on this one, especially after Briggs came out. Plus I bet Reebok already asked NFL as they will sell that gear. Now NFL get to take care of its sponsors and gets a PR bump when every announcer for every game talks about the cleats and gloves and NFL move to allow them.

You, sir, are correct. I’ve been saying it all along: if you’re pissed about the way the Corporate ‘leaders’ handle things, act with your wallet. STOP buying from them! They only care about their rivers of money. Take those rivers away and they’ll alter their behavior. Until we do that, they’ll become more and more snotty about pushing their demands into the public arena.
