That has more to do with the fact that around 80% of Americans identify with being Christian. Even though many of them do not completely know what that means or even attempt to live their life to glorify Christ.

In the early 90s, God told Reggie White to sign with the Packers. Now he’s telling Randall Cobb when to take the ball out of the end zone. God is CLEARLY a Packers fan.

What a exciting way to start off the season with a win over the saints!!! GO PACK GO!!! Cobb is an outstanding player, and a huge treat to opposing special teams!!! Cobb is something the packers have been looking for since Desmond Howard!!! God works in misterious ways just listen close! Cobb did exactly that….Amen!!!!

As for everyone who gets so worked up about someone claiming to hear from God (Cobb’s imaginary friend). Doesn’t it seem strange to you that you’re upset about someone’s imaginary friend? If God doesn’t exist, why does he tick you off? You think Cobb and I are idiots for having an “imaginary friend”. Then you must be completely insane for being angry about my imaginary friend.

Call it what you want, God, gut instinct, something inside you telling you to go for it or a rush of adrenaline from playing in his first game. If you can’t relate to that then you need to get your fat ass off the couch and live a little. Wish I could have watched the damn game if not for the blackout in SoCal. Will definitely keep an eye on this kid, hes got some skills!

As it turns out, he admitted after the game that he ran the wrong route on the TD pass he caught, but Rodgers made the adjustment. Don’t believe he mentioned divine intervention on that one, just that he screwed up but the QB was smart enough to recognize what he was doing.
I don’t have a problem with people saying “God told me to…” instead of “I had a feeling” or “I had a hunch” – as long as they’re not committing a crime.
Does bother me when a bunch of people are in a plane crash or something, one survives, and the family says it was because they were praying. Everyone else who was praying for their loved one wasn’t as good as you are? That one bothers me.

I watched the replays a couple of time today and each time it looked to me as if it was Kuhn waving Cobb out of the end zone and then keeping him from falling out on the field. As much as I like Kuhn I don’t think he is a god yet.

What you saw was a rookie mistake, a player trying to do his best to justify his roster spot with some youthful enthusiasm. I cringed when he first came out of endzone but when he rolled over the tackler and with Kuhn’s help to keep his feet, sprinted down the sideline you couldn’t help but cheer on this guy-that was a special play. First thought was of Desmond Howard from Holmgren’s SB team and late Travis “Roadrunner” Williams from Lombardi era. He’ll get an earful from McCarthy about it, but can’t overlook his contribution to this offense. With the weapons he has, Rodgers will dominate most defensive teams.

You could tell he was just itching to try to take one out the endzone, and finally did. Fortunetly he was able to get it past the 2o GB had problems with that last season.

He appears to have similar skills as Harvin, and he may not have the issue with being or having headaches.

This game proved the people in the NFL who want to take kick returns out of the game need their heads examined. Don’t know whose voice they’re hearing, but they need to turn it off.

Guess that means that “God” will be wrong every time the kid returns a kick and it doesn’t go for a touchdown…
Why do you never hear any of these guys say “God was watchin’ over me” or “God was telling me to do this” when the play turns out badly, when they make a mistake, when it’s not a big success? Is “God” only to be trusted after the play goes for a TD on national TV? Seems like it.

I like the part where Cobb got tackled, but then God picked him up before he hit the ground, turned him over, and then set him on his way again toward the record tying run. I think that was my favoriate part.

To everyone who says God is necessary here, please recall the following. During WWII, Roman Catholic priests on both sides of the war (Axis and Allies) called on their God to benefit their side. To the extent that Roman Catholics of all varieties pray (and are heard by) the same God, then Catholics on each side were praying for the destruction of their counterparts in the other camp. I mention this, not as an indictment of God or religion, but of the silliness of invoking God to benefit one side over another. If you believe in God, we are all God’s children. Leave it out of sports (and war)…

I respect religion and other people belief in God. Now after saying that, Randall Cobb only thinks God told him to bring it out. I talked to God this morning and he said Cobb is confused, that He, God, obviously, is a Saints fan. DUH!!!
