In fact I doubt few of the Packers starters play the second half against the Panthers.

I respectfully disagree with the consensus to take the touchback instead of running it out, especially when you have an elite KR. In 2010, Devin Hester averaged 35.6 yards per return. Even 8 yards deep, that gives an average field position of about +8 yards on average.

Of course there are certain guys that will have some leeway, but you can’t really look at it from an individual point of view. You have to look at team averages. Indy last year led the league with 26 yards a return. That is an average starting position of the 18 yard line if returning from eight yards back. Not too good.

Teams with strong legged kickers have a huge advantage now. How long until every team has a rocket leg that just puts it out the back 90% of the time?

When I first saw it happen I thought for sure it was gonna be a dislocated elbow, a broken humorous or forearm. Glad to be wrong.

He got hit very hard around the 20 or 25 and his feet went airborne and then he came down like a cat and it was adios from that point forward. I’m really, really, really happy he’s not a Bear or a Viking or a Lion.

Can’t wait to see Vic So’oto get on the field. Judging from how well he did against the KC first string …. it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that we end up with another Clay Matthews type talent on the other side.

So, do you think it is worth the risk of being tackled at the 10 or 15 for the chance of a long runback or TD? YES! As soon as coaches realize this, they will stop whining about the kickoff rule change.

The decision to run kicks out of the end zone results in lost yardage statistically…..and no it is not worth the one return for TD you are likely to get that year.

13 teams last year didn’t return a kickoff for a TD(Green Bay included). San Diego had three which led the league. Most had only one.

Looking at that I would say you are wrong. The total loss in field position would far outweigh the one or two big plays you might get.

That made me chuckle, I got a mental picture of little Tiki, (bald as a child for some reason) jumping up and down saying “Pick Me, Pick Me”

Even the proponents of the off-season practices agreed that they would provide almost no help to defensive players. Just about the only thing those “practices” could help with is timing and chemistry between the QB and his offensive players……And I think Aaron Rodgers proved he didn’t need any help there.
