ReutersWith receiver Marques Colston gone for a month or longer due to a broken collarbone and receiver Lance Moore missing Thursday night’s opener against the Packers with a groin injury, the Saints need a little divine intervention.
Or maybe they just need a diva.
According to WWLTV.com, receiver Randy Moss was at the Saints’ facility on Saturday.
Unfortunately, the report apparently is erroneous. Per a league source, if Moss made a visit to the Saints facility, the visit occurred without the Saints contacting Randy’s agent, Joel Segal. Not only would that be highly unconventional, it also would likely be a violation of the labor deal, especially if any conversations occurred with Randy regarding a possible contract.
Moss has “retired” from the NFL, but it is believed that he’d return in certain specific circumstances. The Saints were one of several teams believed to be on Randy’s radar, along with the Pats, Bears, Eagles, and Colts (before Peyton’s latest surgical procedure).

The Saints have guys who will play hard every play and not take plays off. Let Randy have the whole season off. Can’t trust this jerk.
Brees to Moss…
Interesting
what if moss got his agent in on a conference call once there? i bet this kind of stuff happens all the time.
Ridiculous. How about going after some defense??? Passing is the LEAST of the Saints worries. They passed absolutely totally at-will against the Packers.
Maybe he did go by myself.
Nothing says “blowed up locker room” like Randy Moss
Oh please no.. I’m a Saints fan and would hate this, who wouldn’t.. He can’t block, he can’t go up the middle, he takes plays off and he’s a cancer. No No No No No No.. Please NO!!!
the saints are scared of Tampa’s d fence go get old man moss he will screw your lockr room up ok why did who dat nation get rid shokey you all suck so get moss talib will shut him down saints fans get your brown paper bags out you all need them GO BUCS
He likes Creole better than BBQ?
Even though Moss is a diva and a jackwagon I would like to see him on the field for one last hurahh. I think he would play harder and give more than the %50 he had last year if given 1 more chance. And I think the swamp people could use him now considering the injuries.
Since when did anything ethical ever happen around this guy?
Theoretically, he could be meeting someone on the Saints (player or staff) for lunch, which probably wouldn’t be a violation of anything.
But it’s probably just nonsense.
Hearing two different stories. So was he there or not?
If so then I think it would be a nice pick up for the Saints. I think their locker room is too strong for Moss to destroy. Probably the only one strong enough to deal with him.
He’d be a good boy
Sign with ‘da bears! Yah, that’s the ticket.
Let me know before hand so I can add Randy to my fantasy
Randy had his chance, hit the road you phony! Skol.
Great Pairing. Saints see him as a possible season saver, and he see them as serious chance for a championship ring. Don’t tell me he doesn’t want a ring. Sorry Pats, he shouldn’t hold his breath for you.
It makes sense. They probably have great grass in NO.
Wow. This would be neat if true. As much as I think Randy Moss may be trouble, it’s still exciting to think he could be a Who Dat. Who Dat!
Where in that story does it say that Joel Segal wasn’t contacted about Moss’ visit to the Saints?
Not When. But Where? Oh Where will Randy land? Can’t wait for the return of Randy!
It wouldn’t hurt to sign Moss and give Brees another weapon, but even with Colston out we still have plenty of receivers: Meachem, Henderson, Moore, Arrington, Courtney Roby, and of course Jimmy Graham so I’m not sure why we’d sign him since all of those guys are more than capable of holding it down til Colston gets back, unless Moore’s injury is serious too.
Its about time for Meachem to prove he can be a no. 1 guy since that’s what he was drafted to be as a first-rounder back in ’07.
They dont need a receiver, they need some to stop running backs….. Marshawn ran over them like obama did on all of americans.
Whelp, already picked him up on fantasy. Made a tough cut for him too. Now it’s not true? Ouch.
Is there any team in the NFL that could survive this guy?
I like Moss and would love to see him come back to the Pats.
Moss on one side, OchoCinco on the other side, Welker across the middle, Gronk and Fernandez in a 2 tight end formation.
Oh yeah – a guy named Brady at QB.
Be afraid, be very afraid.

Been to any Bucs games lately? There’s still plenty of tickets available (as usual).
People say the Packers passed at will in that game, but guess what.. SO DID WE!!!
Lets see. The Saints are going to replace a reciever that is willing to make the tough catches across the middle with a reciever that is only willing to run a deep sideline route, not block for running plays, or hardly even move off the line if he isn’t the first read on a given play. NOT LIKELY!
Randy Moss stinks worse then my nuts do. One of the most overrated players of all time. As an Eagles fan I know overrated when I see it. I saw McNabb for a decade, overrated, I saw Vick for his whole career, overrated (waste that 1st rd pick in fantasy on a guy who won’t last 12 games, smart), The Eagles head coach Andy The Walrus Reid is overrated. Moss will never be a winner. All his stats are hollow, just like his chest. I think his nickname should be the Tin Man, you know because he has no heart. Give me Hines Ward over him any day. At least Hines goes over the middle and blocks.
1historian–who the hell is Fernandez? Try an H instead of an F. And with all due respect, this is a Saints thread.

*******
Maybe you should have passed to someone other than “will”.
You lost, and that’s what counts.
Is there really a bucs fan trying to say the saints are bad, you guys lost to detroit, we lost to the number 1 team in the league, great comparison. Getting Moss would be great, as long as they let him know that they won’t take his bs or his laziness since they only need him for a couple of weeks.
