From all indications, Texans running back Arian Foster will not play against the Colts today.

All the reporters around the Texans are saying that Foster, who’s been hobbled by a hamstring injury, isn’t looking good. ESPN’s Bob Holtzman reported from Houston that Foster was taken inside on a golf cart, indicating that his hamstring is bothering him enough that he doesn’t even want to walk on it, let alone play on it.

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reported that it looks bleak for Foster, and Derrick Ward and Ben Tate are expected to carry the load.

Last season the Texans also opened against the Colts, and they ran the ball 40 times in that game, including 33 carries for 231 yards and three touchdowns from Foster, who led the Texans to victory.

Today’s game should be a lot easier for the Texans’ defense, as Peyton Manning isn’t playing. But the Texans will be without a key member of their offense, too.

UPDATE: It’s official, Foster is inactive.
