The Chargers need a new kicker.

Coach Norv Turner confirmed that Nate Kaeding will miss the season with a torn ACL at his Monday press conference.

The team feared that the two-time Pro Bowler tore the knee ligament on Sunday, but they waited for an MRI to be sure. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune writes that Nick Novak is on the team’s list of kickers they are bringing in for a tryout.

“We have a list of very good guys,” head coach Norv Turner said. “It’s not a long list.”

Turner also confirmed the reports that defensive end Luis Castillo has a broken tibia. It’s unclear how long Castillo will be out.
