The New England Patriots are running away from the Miami Dolphins, and Wes Welker just ran away from the Dolphins’ defense.

With the Patriots backed up on their own 1-yard line, Welker caught a pass from Tom Brady and raced to the end zone, 99 yards, tying the NFL record for the longest play from scrimmage in history, a record that can’t be broken.

Brady was already having a huge day passing, but the 99 yards from Welker turned his numbers into something out of a video game: Late in the fourth quarter he’s 31-for-46 for 511 yards, with four touchdowns.

The score is 38-17 New England with five minutes to play, and the Patriots are about to be 1-0.
