With Daniel Thomas hurt Monday night, the Dolphins had Larry Johnson active but didn’t use him at running back.
Miami isn’t done kicking the tires on familiar names at the position. Brian Westbrook said on Twitter Tuesday he worked out for the Dolphins.
“Hello Miami!!! Killed the Workout!!” he wrote.
A few hours later: “Workout went really well, looked like the 2005 Bwest!! But they need some other players right now so I’m headed back to the farm!!”
Westbrook clearly wants to keep playing, but it seems unlikely he’ll get another chance. We’d guess he has a better shot than Tiki Barber, another player who worked out for Miami.
