APOn Tuesday, veteran tight end Donald Lee got a tryout in Cincinnati.
The Bengals apparently liked what they saw. The team announced Wednesday morning that Lee has joined the team.
Lee, who spent 2003 and 2004 with the Dolphins and 2005 through 2010 with the Packers, signed with the Eagles in July. He was cut on September 3.
To create a roster spot for Lee, the Bengals cut defensive back Rico Murray.

Great player, I’ve seen him many times for the packers and he was allways a great contributor to the team. Good pickup for the Bengals.
Good Player. Not great, but good Tight End

LOL. Not that good.
Would have thought Bengals would cut Chase Coffman (TE) instead of Murray. This is CC’s third year and he has trouble getting on the field – doesn’t seem to get this “TE’s need to block” thing.
Nobody doesn’t like Donald Lee.

Solid signing. A good veteran to backup Gresham.
Where is Mike Brown and where is Marvin Lewis keeping him? It’s not Brown’s style to make smart move after smart move.
(Extending Hall, Cook, Whitworth while signing Clements, Lee, Lawson & Howard & trading a 2013 7th rounder for Taylor Mays)
Someone put out an APB for Mike Brown.
On second thought lets not and just pretend we did …
@pskotte
“CC” still has practice squad eligibility & that’s where you’ll find him, still refining his technique & ability to commit his blocking assignments with superior acumen … which if he could do that well enough already he’d actually be on the 53 right now as the #3 BLOCKING specialist TE … as it is he’s square behind 1st round talent Gresham as the #2 pass catching specialist TE & there’s only room for the one of those on the roster.
Any chance they’ll bring back TJ Whoseyomama?
Donald WHO??
He’s a very good TE. He got lost in the depth at Green Bay otherwise he’d still be there.
Solid signing — good player — hard worker.
We like Donald Lee.
He is tough in the red zone.
WTF? how did the Giants not pick him up? it not they they need a TE or anything…
I am quickly losing faith in Reese.
Congrats to the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals
