Lee Evans, back in a boot

Lee Evans AP

It’s not all good news for the Baltimore Ravens, three days after lambasting the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Receiver Lee Evans is back in a walking boot, per Dan Kolko of MASNSports.com.

Evans did not practice on Wednesday.

After shedding the boot last week during practice and playing in Sunday’s game, Evans said of the injury, “It’s the same.  It is what it is.”

Acquired from Buffalo during camp, Evans was targeted four times, and he had no catches against the Steelers.

Also missing from practice were cornerback Jimmy Smith (ankle) and cornerback Chris Carr (hamstring).  The Ravens play the Titans in Tennessee on Sunday.

Not the best news. However, unlike last season, we have 3 burners now. Torrey Smith and David Reed can take turns playing decoy and running 9 routes all day long. Evans did light up the preseason though. It would be nice to see him haul in a 70 yarder early in the year.

I can’t wait for the Boldin/Finnegan matchup this week, by the way. That has the potential to get a little testy.

    Bills looked AWESOME without Lee…

Look what a team can do then their receivers aren’t afraid to run routes in the middle of the field!

We good he can rest for the next two weeks so him and jimmy can come back against the jets don’t u think ravens fans?

Not really worried about Lee. He can boot up and stay inactive until the Jets game as far as I’m concerned. Get him healthy for a run at the end of the season. I’m not sweating the Titans without him…I’m sweating the Steelers and teams like that without him.

No offense intended to the Titans.

There are alotta reasons players are counceled to wear boots. It isn’t only because something is broken.

He wore the same boot the entire week of a preseason game and came out flying.

It’s clearly not that big a deal.

obviously a luxury pick up and he still will be worth it if he heals. i am glad we got a fourth for him but a ravens fourth is pretty low. good luck lee and remember you were always thought of as a class A dude in buffalo.
